This is an algorithmic recommendation based on @fehcasarin's trips history to find places they haven't been to yet that other people with similar travels also went and liked.
This city is not for everyone, if you like shopping malls and big crowded cities it is for you. It may be cheap but if you want to live in a good location with swimming pool, go to nice rooftops and restaurants, use taxis then it is similar cost to western countries. In many areas there are no sidewalks, big and dangerous traffic all the time, pollution, taxis do not want to go with meter, it can get really hot. Definitely try to live by the metro. Many foreigners, mostly friendly people, cheap

I don't know exactly how Barcelona is still considered safe but it's far from it. It's probably the most dangerous city to live in Madrid and one of the most dangerous in europe, with constant pick-pocketing and even violent crimes to get your wallet and phone in certain areas. If you like a peaceful life, Barcelona is not the place anymore!!

It is more expensve than expected. Depending whete you live, streets can be dirty. It seems the government only uses the tax money to invest in the high en areas. Thwre are is a lot of inequality. People are very racist. I am Mexican, and the first thing people ask me here, is whete do I come from. I have never felt as discriminated as here and to be honest I dont think I have it as bad as other people.

I am reporting from Istanbul. The prices shown here are much lower than the current prices in Istanbul. (Prices are constantly increasing due to high inflation) For example, 1 beer costs $2 in markets, not in cafes! In cafes it is 4$ - also dinner is said to be 4$, but you can only eat a toasted bread for this money. To get an idea, a main course and a drink is at least $10.

Lived in Phuket for a year now. Amazing place, especially the Bang Tao area. The further you go up north, the more beautiful it gets. Amazing beaches, beach clubs, restaurants and people. Patong is nice for a few days, but if you're not into partying just stay away. A lot of police check on the roads around Patong (and accidents), so always bring your international license. You can make it as expensive (or cheap) as you want, if you eat local like I do a meal is around 60 - 120 baht. Stay away

There are not a lot of places to work from, there are not many cafes. The city is not so fun, but the city is close to great dunes and beaches. The sitances are relatively long and since its always very hot it is not ideal to walk. My score would be nomad score would be 2.

I loved the sunsets. They were breathtaking by the water. Internet was spotty and difficult to find good coworking spaces and cafes with reliable wifi. Had to leave one airbnb due to wifi. As a woman, I was often sexually harassed with men hitting on me and not respected me when I declined. One even said to me "no sometimes means yes when i declined to go back home with him after a drink". This was more sexual harrasment than anywhere I've ever visited in the world. Very bad place to visit right now. The country is in a time of political and civil unrest, with mass protests closing down airports, train stations, and roads since early December 2022 (it is now mid January 2023). Tourists have had to be evacuated. The train to Machu Picchu is indefinitely closed until further notice. 48 people have died in the conflicts so far. Peru, and Cusco in particular, is a beautiful place with amazing things to see - but right now is not the time to visit.

Don't let yourself be discouraged by the reviews here! Most of them are untrue and very negative and actually they made me skip Santiago in 2022. I came to spend a month in February 2024 and it was amazing! Everyday I got impressed by how nice this city feels. I've been in every latam country apart from Venezuela. Decent city, mainly because the people are so kind. But, it is a pain to get cash (spent a few hours every couple weeks trying Western Union after WU and never finding one with enough cash), and a lot of places don't take cards/the current exchange rate is a ripoff. However, BRING REPELLENT. The place is littered with mosquitos, and my partner and I both contracted dengue. He ended up in the hospital, and it was not a blast. The healthcare system is decent, but long wait times even in the nicest
