As a very sociable expat who's been living here for the past 2 years, and with still no friends outside of work, I can say it's HARD making friends in Antwerp.

Athens is a fantastic city. Locals are friendly and food is fantastic. There isn't a huge amount to do, but for a short stay it's definitely worth the visit.

Renting a flat as a freelancer here is incredibly difficult. The city isn't small but there's not enough to do in my opinion apart from drinking and eating. Locals mostly keep to themselves and don't mix much. Not enough nomadlisters. The co-working space here is alright (Harry Cow is €20 per day) but when it gets busy with 4-5 people having meetings and generally not being mindful of others, it's headache inducing. Decent city, mainly because the people are so kind. But, it is a pain to get cash (spent a few hours every couple weeks trying Western Union after WU and never finding one with enough cash), and a lot of places don't take cards/the current exchange rate is a ripoff. However, BRING REPELLENT. The place is littered with mosquitos, and my partner and I both contracted dengue. He ended up in the hospital, and it was not a blast. I don't know exactly how Barcelona is still considered safe but it's far from it. It's probably the most dangerous city to live in Madrid and one of the most dangerous in europe, with constant pick-pocketing and even violent crimes to get your wallet and phone in certain areas. If you like a peaceful life, Barcelona is not the place anymore!!

Definitely worth visiting but not particularly attractive as a remote work destination. I can't think of anything Seoul does better than other Asian cities outside of just being cool because it's South Korean (and I don't mean that sarcastically at all, South Korea is a very cool place). But again, do visit.
