I lived in Central Warsaw on and off for about 1 year pre and post-pandemic. Central Warsaw is the "New York of Eastern Europe". Pros: - Very convenient, safe and clean. - Lots of modern, futuristic buildings. Easy to find nice apartments. - Very bike-able. - Not too expensive. - Lots of coworking spaces. - Some startup culture and quite a few meetups (pre-pandemic). - Polish women are beautiful. - Interesting history. Cons: - Not much of a nomad scene. - Coworking spaces have a rather corpor

I donโ€™t recommend living here full time. The summers are unbearably hot and humid and you have to drive 1+ hours to the closest beach. Actually, you have to drive everywhere because everything is a 20+ min drive. Traffic is terrible and everything is under construction. There are lots of bugs, mosquitos, gators, roaches, etcโ€ฆ You can be here for months and not do all the different entertainment, restaurants, experiences the Orlando area has to offer. I am a Greek living abroad just the last couple of years. I accidentally discovered this page and noticed the comments below. What I can recommend to people considering living in Athens is to explore places a bit outside of the city center. I agree with people that there are many areas very close to the city center that are dirty and perhaps not very safe to walk around at night. Explore areas like Glyfada, Voula, Kifisia, Marousi, Psychiko, Marousi and you will be amazed with how different it i

Everything is for American tourists. Prices are sometimes even higher than in the US. Beach is beautiful, there's nothing to do downtown. Cenotes, archaeological zone are cool, worth a visit. Covid is like it doesn't exist. Internet was cool in Selina. Cool to stay for a couple of nights of chilling, but not for living.

Good: - Great local food - Portuguese people are amazingly friendly - Vibrant DN community. It's like the city has been overtaken by remote workers. You will see everyone working on their laptop everywhere you go. - Amazing views whenever you want; you can just get a beer and climb to one of the viewpoints to see the sunset. Easy and magical. - Super cheap Ubers, easy subway Bad: - Housing prices. I'm not kidding, it's the worst I've ever seen. Ultra overpriced. I guess that's the problem when

All in, Austin is a good city. We live in Hill Country now so we're a bit removed. But it's beautiful area once you get away from the highways. A good tech scene. Not too expensive (~$2100 for a nice 2 bedroom apt) for the U.S. Has wineries and breweries galore. Not a great place if you are a recovering alcoholic (!). Cons: extremely hot in the summer; reaches 110 F (43.3 C) in summer afternoons from June - September. Not very diverse. Highways are loud and obnoxious.

Lived there last September and October and am coming back later this year. Yes, it is expensive, but after a while I learned about affordable places to eat and realized I could choose neighborhoods farther from city center, and it would still be nice. City feels super safe, even at nigh! Internet is crazy fast (I got 500mb on my airbnb) there are tons to do and see and I did not encounter the super rude Parisians people talk so much about, mostly everyone spoke English and were very polite. Disney, Universal, SeaWorld, Legoland, Fu

  • Austin

All in, Austin is a good city. We live in Hill Country now so we're a bit removed. But it's beautiful area once you get away from the highways. A good tech scene. Not too expensive (~$2100 for a nice 2 bedroom apt) for the U.S. Has wineries and breweries galore. Not a great place if you are a recovering alcoholic (!). Cons: extremely hot in the summer; reaches 110 F (43.3 C) in summer afternoons from June - September. Not very diverse. Highways are loud and obnoxious.

This place should be number 1 on the Nomad list. Canโ€™t fathom why the internet score is so low! We got anywhere from 100mbps upload and download in most cafeโ€™s to 550mbps up and download in our apartment! The internet is blazing fast! The cost of living is great compared to places like Mexico which is becoming so expensive. Iโ€™d say itโ€™s on par with COL in Canggu. The people are super friendly, the food is incredible and cheap! The views and endless amounts of things to do just blows your

Tokyo has so much to offer and so much to do. It is easily overwhelming. Whereas I usually take my first week to explore a place Tokyoโ€™s sights just kept on going. I remember ending up in a hidden cocktail bar, a mexican rooftop party with 1 meter margaritas, spending a whole day going only to French places(?), visiting a store that only imported 2nd hand hiphop apparel, and throughout it all the best michelin star ramen. It just seemed endless, completely unrelated and incredibly fun. Six wee

  • Athens

I am a Greek living abroad just the last couple of years. I accidentally discovered this page and noticed the comments below. What I can recommend to people considering living in Athens is to explore places a bit outside of the city center. I agree with people that there are many areas very close to the city center that are dirty and perhaps not very safe to walk around at night. Explore areas like Glyfada, Voula, Kifisia, Marousi, Psychiko, Marousi and you will be amazed with how different it i
