The other reviews are rightโit's a good city with excellent value for money. The people are nice enough. The infrastructure is good. Budapest was on my list about cities for living. I stayed for 7 days and was a little disappointed People are not very friendly, lots os places very dirty, people smoke a lot and the costs isn't affordable as people indicated here. Its a beautiful place, walkable, people have a good level of education, lots of things to do, but not as i imagined. Even so its a nice place.

Lived in Prague for 8 years. It's a beautiful international European city. Never learned Czech, but was fine. Almost all cafes and restaurants have English menus. Superb food delivery apps (Wolt is the best). All the food you can imagine. Vietnamese food is world-class because of the huge Vietnamese population. I don't know exactly how Barcelona is still considered safe but it's far from it. It's probably the most dangerous city to live in Madrid and one of the most dangerous in europe, with constant pick-pocketing and even violent crimes to get your wallet and phone in certain areas. If you like a peaceful life, Barcelona is not the place anymore!!

Madeira feels like a bubble, excessively priced and lacking value. In recent years, there has been a noticeable increase in homelessness and drug addicts on the streets. Certain parts of the old town are unsafe to walk at night. Expect to pay nearly Amsterdam-level prices for apartments. I've stayed in Nordeste (east part of island) for a week. This place feels like a mix of Ubud, New Zealand, Alps and Wells* I never been in New Zealand, Alps and Wells LOL Good: - very green, grass fields, trees, forest and parks like windows xp wallpaper - you can go in park and read a book. I loved the sunsets. They were breathtaking by the water. Internet was spotty and difficult to find good coworking spaces and cafes with reliable wifi. Had to leave one airbnb due to wifi. As a woman, I was often sexually harassed with men hitting on me and not respected me when I declined. One even said to me "no sometimes means yes when i declined to go back home with him after a drink". This was more sexual harrasment than anywhere I've ever visited in the world. Unless you want to spend the whole ski season in an outdated, tiny, crowded and poorly manage ski resort and terrible town and atmosphere, thereโs nothing worth noting to do in Bansko. One of the worst cities in N.America. Insanely expensive, people are awkward and making friends is difficult. Lots of homeless and mentally ill and drug addicts everywhere. Lots of construction. American corpo work culture with zero benefits of American corpo work culture, low salaries. I don't understand why London has so high safety rating. Your phone could be stolen and your bicycle WILL be stolen here (or a part of it). I live here 8.5 years and I experienced the above multiple times. Police seems only cares about crime against person by whatever reason. Insure everything expensive that you own. I would also add that antisocial behaviour is quite common here and teenagers are heavily involved in crimes as police don't do anything with them because of their age. Basically th

I stayed in Pokhara for a few months and it is a friendly place with a good music scene. there are plenty of amazing trekking opportunities around in the Himalayas. the people are very friendly and it's easy to make friends. Lots of travelers here are smoking weed, it seems to be pretty legal here. internet speeds are good (probably 15 up and down on average but I stayed in one place that was hitting 30) but power cuts are frequent in the summer (monsoon) months. This city is not for everyone, if you like shopping malls and big crowded cities it is for you. It may be cheap but if you want to live in a good location with swimming pool, go to nice rooftops and restaurants, use taxis then it is similar cost to western countries. In many areas there are no sidewalks, big and dangerous traffic all the time, pollution, taxis do not want to go with meter, it can get really hot. Definitely try to live by the metro. I lived in Beijing for almost 3 years from 2014-2017. It's an incredible city with a lot to offer. It's an imposing place and not the most welcoming, but that's because it takes time to adjust.
