One of the best cities in Europe. Though location makes a big difference in Istanbul. Besikatas, Nişantaşı, and Karakoy are parts that I enjoyed. They are safe and have nice vibe and energy. Big city, but not too hectic. I've met a lot of friendly Turkish people there and had good conversations. The food is good and relatively cheap. Outside of the good areas you will find lots of scams, people will try you everyday. Though its not violent, you can always just walk away.

There's no reason to live in this city. I spent a year here. The weather is not even a bit nicer compared to central-eastern Europe. Maybe when it's -4 degrees in Budapest, it's +1 in Barcelona. That's just as cold. And the insulation in apartments is practically non-existent, as well as AC and heating. Seseh is a small, beachy area north of Canggu. It's not really a community of its own, although that's changing as people move north from being priced out of the Canggu Airbnb market. Seseh is built mostly on "green land", or land zoned for nature use rather than commercial or residential use. Loved this city! It is not big although has great nightlife, coworkings, amazing streetart and is quite cheap. Although, when I visited in December 2021 they had problems with garbage removal.

Stayed for 5 days in Tulum in March 2023, here are a few things to consider. -The Pros are: there a ton of very solid accommodations for ~$50 per night on a short term basis (1BR apartment, pool, etc.). I've stayed in Merida for about 1 month during winter. I really enjoyed the Merida fest which take place during the month of January. I felt very safe in this city and people are very friendly. There are plenty of cafes in Centro where you can work and the internet is quite good. Overall, it's a great place to be and I would see myself stay for a long time.

It can be hard to get a medium-term rental. Rentals are expensive for little amenities in comparison to other places around Mexico. There are some cafes with good internet but, no coworking spaces.
