Spent two years in Montreal. I have zero regrets and it was a lot of fun for a few years, but ultimately needed to leave. Pros: -Good variety of nightlife and activities. From clubs to cool bars to strip clubs, you can find it in Montreal. Drinking here is quite cheap. -Population feels very young in the city center due to multiple large universities. Other areas around are also full of young professionals. Lots of cool trendy areas. -Work to live not live to work attitudes. People in Montrea

  • Bangkok

Don't believe the prices on here for an apartment. 686 usd/month refers to an apartment in a high class condo, right in the city centre and seconds away from the BTS(train station). Just remember this, people working at supermarkets make 2 usd/per hour. If you want to live like a local, then you can save a lot of money. If you don't mind a 5-10 minute walk from the BTS, then you can easily get a one bedroom apartment for 300 USD per month, in a high class condo, plus with free golf cart ser

  • Canggu

Canggu is a great place to live. Im a remote worker and have lived here for most of COVID and then some. In total Im thinking something like 20 of the last 24 months! It is brilliantly priced for someone with a steady income who wants their money to go far. I spent about $3,000 USD living like a king with a prime location villa, private chef, the most expensive gym and spa membership, and eating out at least 10 times a week.

  • Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai used to be N.1 for the digital nomad life. It is still great and you can find really cheap apartments (300-400$) and restaurants (2-3$ for a main). Wouldn't recommend staying there during the burning season. The best area is Nimman, but it's also the most expensive. You can stay in the old city that's very nice but that gets noisy during the weekend for the night markets. Last but not least, very safe city. All in all would go back in a heartbeat.

  • Istanbul

Spent 4 months in Istanbul. Lovely city. Lots of things to do, cafes to work from, historical sites and nice parks. Might be chaotic at times but its part of its charm. Pros: Everything is really cheap from food, groceries, clothes, etc. The only unusually pricey thing is alcohol. Rent prices are skyrocketing too I found Turkish people to be really nice. Some of them went out the extra mile to help me out with mundane things. The tea culture and community feeling of every street is awesome too

  • Madrid

Favorite city in the entire world and honestly people who prefer Barcelona to it just simply did not do Madrid right. This city has everything you could possibly want in a city (besides a beach of course). So safe, amazing transportation all over the city and country, amazing location to travel easily and cheaply to the rest of Europe. Restaurant and nightlife scenes are unparalleled as someone else said in another comment. Did you know Madrid has more bars per capita than anywhere in the world?

Medellin is a very nice place! Good options of restaurants, hotels and places to hangout. En EL Poblado you have a good variety of bars and places to hangout. At Medellin i worked from the hotel and from a famous shopping mall (EL TESORO) witch has dedicated places, with very good structure os desks, chairs and wi fi for digital nomads (Nรณmadas Espacio de Coworking).

  • Hoi An

I stayed in Hoi An much longer than I planned (10 days) because it was so pleasant. Yes, tourists everywhere. But my hotel was gorgeous and cheap and the wifi was plenty fast for work. When not working I biked out to the beach or through the paddies or into town (too crowded for a bike most times but functional if needed) or just around the countryside. Had some of my friendliest encounters here and as a single woman, always felt safe - night or day.
