Budapest was on my list about cities for living. I stayed for 7 days and was a little disappointed People are not very friendly, lots os places very dirty, people smoke a lot and the costs isn't affordable as people indicated here. Its a beautiful place, walkable, people have a good level of education, lots of things to do, but not as i imagined. Even so its a nice place.

Canโt recommend Ubud. Itโs just the same overdeveloped and overpriced mentally isolated tourist trap that is Canggu, just a bit worse. If you have never been anywhere else, it might be okay for 2 weeks, but to any seasoned traveller itโs a the type of place you dread.

Lived in Prague for 8 years. It's a beautiful international European city. Never learned Czech, but was fine. Almost all cafes and restaurants have English menus. Lived in Phuket for a year now. Amazing place, especially the Bang Tao area. The further you go up north, the more beautiful it gets. Amazing beaches, beach clubs, restaurants and people. Patong is nice for a few days, but if you're not into partying just stay away. A lot of police check on the roads around Patong (and accidents), so always bring your international license. This city is not for everyone, if you like shopping malls and big crowded cities it is for you. It may be cheap but if you want to live in a good location with swimming pool, go to nice rooftops and restaurants, use taxis then it is similar cost to western countries. In many areas there are no sidewalks, big and dangerous traffic all the time, pollution, taxis do not want to go with meter, it can get really hot. Definitely try to live by the metro. I've been in Cape Town a month. The good: it's gorgeous, great hiking and scenery, wide variety of restaurants at affordable prices, lots of great cheap wine, walkable neighborhoods. The island is beautiful. Many tourists, especially for overrated Full Moon Party that elevates prices a lot. Roads are in good condition, you would need a scooter to get around, tourists drive very bad and irresponsibly. Wear a helmet! It is not a computer game, do not let the paradise island delude you, there are many accidents. A few places to work from. To get here you need to fly to Samui or Surat Thani and then take a ferry. Valencia is just a paradise on earth, and you realise it when you feel so blessed just walking around in this vibrant yet calm, small yet big city. Canggu has changed quite a lot. Inmigration treats tourist like shit. Congestion and traffic is a nightmare. Horrible Pollution. Been living here 2 years and I am def closing this chapter. I am a high net worth individual and I will go with my money somewhere else where they respect me and the place has a good energy.

Madeira feels like a bubble, excessively priced and lacking value. In recent years, there has been a noticeable increase in homelessness and drug addicts on the streets. Certain parts of the old town are unsafe to walk at night. Expect to pay nearly Amsterdam-level prices for apartments. I don't know exactly how Barcelona is still considered safe but it's far from it. It's probably the most dangerous city to live in Madrid and one of the most dangerous in europe, with constant pick-pocketing and even violent crimes to get your wallet and phone in certain areas. If you like a peaceful life, Barcelona is not the place anymore!!

Recife is one of Brazilยดs larggest urban areas, with caothic traffic and other big cities problems, like insecurity. But it has so much colonial history, beautiful beaches and cool neighborhoods. Does not worth it, way too dangerous and not so beautiful. My grandpa lives there and I went to visit him on my vacation and it was terrible, very dangerous, beaches in downtown are super polluted, I couldn't find a reason to indicate it.

I have spend a few days in Da Nang in January and its one of the only cities in Vietnam, I absolutely couldnt find aything positive about. It felt dead to me. Almost no people there and it feels like the city doesnt have a soul. I would even go so far to say the city is the only place in Asia that made me feel unformfortable. Cant recommend it. Furthermore i got a food poisoning there. So the overall experience wasnt good.

Incredibly expensive city, but a great location to get to many other destinations. The city is highly diverse due to all the diplomats and their various supporting structures. You can see most of Geneva in 2 days. The lake is gorgeous!!! Public transport is fantastic and on the honor system. The people are very nice and everyone speaks English.

Krabi is a nice weekend getaway if you stay in Bangkok and wanna escape the city for a few days. That being said, the best area for staying is Ao Nang beach. From here, you can go to the famous Railay beach with a longtail boat within 15 minutes and also the tours to Phi Phi and Hong Island start from here. There is a club called Upbeat Bar/Loft RNB in the middle of Ao Nang that gets kinda busy, although not super crowded in the rainy season. Maybe main season is different. Stay away from Krabi
