Lived there from 2015 till 2023, the COL goes up every year. The rental market is in constant Flux, changing every 3 days. It is a retirement community/city with a population that spikes from Nov till end of may with "Snow Birds", Retires that live part of the year there. Hurricane Ian destroyed most of the well known beaches. If your smart and are staying long term (6 months plus)You can have a COL under $3,000/month at the time of writing this. Just an update on the currency situation. Now, it seems you get the dollar blue exchange rate by using a credit card, so as long as you have a credit card that doesn't charge fees, it will be as cheap if not cheaper than paying in cash for things. Changing money is no hassle if you use the cuevas, and have clean 100 dollar bills for the best exchange rate. I have been two weeks, and have been humbled by the kindness and openness of the people so far. I have not found them rude in any way, quite

An awesome city full of gorgeous greenery/flowers (check it out during the flower fest) and beautiful women. People are down to earth and has a big reggaeton scene (some of the big worldwide artists from here). International food has been improving as it solidifies as a foreigner vacation spot. Been coming to medellin for like 7 years mainly for vacations, while weather is good (spring like) i prefer a bit colder myself. Everything is cheap, and colombians in general are friendly and welcoming.

Been living here 3 months. Overall i would say its a place only good for short trips to like machu picchu/rainbow mountain. My rating 5/10. Pros - extremely safe especially in miraflores and barranco. Airbnbs cheap enough if you are ok living the cramped condo life. Breathtaking views off the cliff and pacific ocean. Excellent japanese food.Internet reliable and fast. Cons - hassle to get sim card have to go with passport and dependong where you go theres long lines. Immigration gives shor

I have a different experience than the other review. It's a fantastic little town - there are lots of tourists but there are many local joints and great spots with less people if you're willing to get out of the town square. Everyone is super friendly and it's easy to meet people here. There are a few good spots to co-work and the internet has been fine (not the best but more than usable for remote work i.e. software engineer). There's a good spot for surfing as a beginner, then there are the mo

I don't understand why London has so high safety rating. Your phone could be stolen and your bicycle WILL be stolen here (or a part of it). I live here 8.5 years and I experienced the above multiple times. Police seems only cares about crime against person by whatever reason. Insure everything expensive that you own. I would also add that antisocial behaviour is quite common here and teenagers are heavily involved in crimes as police don't do anything with them because of their age. Basically th
