  • Santiago

I lived in Santiago for a year and I can confidently say that it is THE most boring place Iยดve ever been to. Itยดs super expensive, the air quality is very bad, terrible food (I canยดt stress that enough) and very boring and welcoming people. I don't see any reason why anybody would go there as an expat or digital nomad, tbh.

I don't know why some people here are so negative about Lisboa. It's far from the level the level of dirt as described. Only the area of barrio alto and pink street have some dealers, but they don't bother you and aren't aggressive. Lack of heating is something I have heard, however should be easy enough to buy a radiator. Besides Lisboa doesn't really get that cold, compared to other European cities. The climate is very pleasant for most of the year. A real con would be that the historic centr

  • Cairo

I stayed in Cairo for a week as a solo female (21 years old). I was followed a lot and cat-called / asked for a 'view' or a kiss every 5 minutes even though I was completely covered up, so this is definitely not a place for the faint hearted. It was never with malicious intent though (no one forced themselves on me or even tried to mug me), the culture is just very different than western culture. Whilst they're pushy, they won't do anything unless you let them. It took a couple of days for me to

  • Lima

One of the most horrendous cities I've ever been to. Too much traffic, ugly architecture and even the food is very much hit and miss. Oh and housing is not that cheap. People can range from very friendly to very much not caring but on average, they're neither unfriendly nor easy to connect with, even if you speak good Spanish. More than anything, from someone used to the lively vibe in Colombia or Mexico, the place is as lively as a cemetery. No music, not even a peep at night... There's a reaso

Panama reminds me of the booming southeast asian capitals of bangkok, singapore, manila or kuala lumpur, filled with condos and malls. It is clean, the weather is warm but not humid. Internet speed is fast and reliable, all the conveniences of the city is available here. But aside from that, theres not much else to do here unless you enjoy the malls, eating out and going to the pubs. The only thing that you need to get used to is the roads do not have pedestrian lanes, although cars always prior

I just loved Medellin. I planned to stay 4 weeks, but I stayed 8 weeks. First, the weather: always comfortable, not too hot not too cold. You do not need air conditioning, you can sleep with the window open (no mosquitoes or flies because of the bats). Second, for a North American, everything is very cheap; food, lodging, transportation (Uber and taxis are so inexpensive you should not bother with the very clean subway or the buses). Then the fun life; every neighborhood has some kind of nigh en

  • Tenerife

I lived in Puerto De La Cruz between October and December. Pros; - Quiet, safe neighbourhood - Well stocked supermarkets - High speed broadband in my Airbnb - Very hot and sunny days in October / November - Cheap Taxis - Lots of hikes - Legal, cheap cannabis - Access to southern Tenerife for partying Cons; - English is not that great, but can get by. - High humidity and rainfall - Not great social scene - A lot of sub-par restaurants (I recommend 'Vulk' and anything south american) - Boring n

  • Split

Was in Split for September and early october. I went to spend time bouldering over the sea, swimming and having pleasant walks around Marjan Park, which i did. For that it was perfect. The city is also a great place for a nice date and to meet a handful of other nomads. End of summer i feel is probably the best time unless you really want the tourists and the busy nights

  • Mexico City

I was here for 10 days and loved it. Rome and La Condesa are the fun places to be, albeit on the more expensive side. I love the city for its parks & nature, for the food, for the culture, and for the nightlife. Parks: there are trees everywhere, even in the most urban streets; the parks are massive and frequent (Chapultepec, Parque Mexico, and Parque Espana are all way bigger than a map makes them appear). Food: the best! $3 street tacos or $120 rooftop patio, incredibly delicious no matter wha

  • Fukuoka

I work in Fukuoka and all I can say is that it's a fantastic city. As a disclaimer I happen to be close to fluent in Japanese, and as the metrics here would indicate speaking next to no Japanese might be somewhat difficult, but it's certainly still livable (tons of signage is in English, and there is information on places to go and see in English as well). Also it feels a tad more unexposed in comparison to some of the more major cities, though Fukuoka has a pretty large population at about 1.6
