โจ Recommended destinations they haven't been
This is an algorithmic recommendation based on @joaoburgani's trips history to find places they haven't been to yet that other people with similar travels also went and liked.

Sitting here laughing out loud at these "been here a few week" reviews where supposedly they could tell it all. You guys obviously don't know the right places, you probably ended up around lower Sukhumvit (with all the mention about hookers and lbs). Don't listen to any of this. I've lived around SEA for 10+ years. Nearly 8 of them in Bangkok. There is a reason I keep coming back. You have: excellent networking, lots of startups, awesome nightlife (if you know where to go!), amazing, internation

I've been hanging out in Berlin on and off for 30 years. It is very safe for women. It is much friendlier than it used to be. There are loads of vegan restaurants now. The nightlife and specially jazz clubs are amazing! I have an excellent apartment to rent out in Wedding - which used to have a boring reputation but now is very cool.

My opinion to this person is: - Please go home and be happy and cheerful! Donโt live at โmiserable and depressed (โฆ) populationโ home. - If youโre only use to eat potatoes + burgers, us, as the rest of the world, we have that too. - Please post your photo, so Portuguese women know from whom they must running from. โPros: - Plenty of great co-working spaces - Lots of digital nomads - Meetups, tech and crypto conferences Cons: - Everything is severely overpriced from food to rents (

Pros - extremely cheap (excl. housing), great transportation system (both subway and busses), great pastry shops Cons - expensive airbnbs, rude people who can be fairly racist towards blacks (worldcup was a tough time given how openly people were cursing about black people in bars and home get togethers I went to) and other south americans (weird superiority complex), a tad depressing given the current economic crises (almost everyone is going through a rough time so it is difficult to enjoy yo

Lived in Prague for 8 years. It's a beautiful international European city. Never learned Czech, but was fine. Almost all cafes and restaurants have English menus. Superb food delivery apps (Wolt is the best). All the food you can imagine. Vietnamese food is world-class because of the huge Vietnamese population. If you want hipster bars and cafes, there's plenty of that. If you want old-world-charm there's plenty of that. If you want posh luxury there's some of Europes best restaurants and cockta

There's no reason to live in this city. I spent a year here. The weather is not even a bit nicer compared to central-eastern Europe. Maybe when it's -4 degrees in Budapest, it's +1 in Barcelona. That's just as cold. And the insulation in apartments is practically non-existent, as well as AC and heating. If there's heating in an apartment, using it for like 3 hours/day would cost $100 a month. Speaking of apartments, pricing is ridiculous. $1500 + utilities for a 2 bedroom in a neighborhood where

Stayed for 2 weeks after almost a year n a half in LatAm. Beautiful city; great food options- especially for Asian food lovers. Plenty of authentic Thai, Vietnamese and Chinese options for about 50% of what you would pay in a Western city. Decent hostels will cost $11-$15 weekdays and between $18-$30 on weekends.... Good internet; beautiful architecture and people but it is true Hungarians can be very cold at times. Overall a good stay with many destinations just a quick and cheap flight/tr

Visited in February of 2019, the week before Carnival. Great time to visit as there were hardly any tourists and only a few other travelers. Downside is a lot of the restaurants aren't open and some tours are shut down. Upside is you get to live like a local in a insanely touristy town 10 months of the year. We were able to grab a very nice 1 bedroom apartment in the old town center with a kitchen for 150 euros for 5 nights (30 euros/n). Probably 10-15 restaurants were open in the old town, incl

Beautiful old town and waterfront, but as soon as you leave them it becomes a post-Communist dump. I've had very good internet in airbnbs, and it's quite affordable if you live like a local.

I spent a month in Tirana in February 2022 and then returned in October for a one-week stay. Generally, I was pleasantly surprised and would recommend Tirana. Here are my Pros and Cons: Pros: - Cheap: Airbnbs are cheap (especially on a monthly basis), food is very cheap (around a third of what you would pay in Germany) and still good quality (most of the time). - Walkable: The city center is pretty compact and everything can be reached on foot - Green: The city center has multiple parks around

Pros - cheap: lunch for 1 person for less than USD10, grande cappuccino in Starbucks for less than USD2 - good cafes and restaurants, for them go to Mustafa Enver Bey street in Alsancak, to Cengiz Topel street in Bostanli, or to Hilltown, Mavibahce, and Istinye Park malls - a big city with skyscrapers in the financial district, good public transportation including metro, trams, buses, and ferries, and big malls, but slower, cheaper, more relaxed, and less crowded than Istanbul - great climate, h

Spent summer 2020 on Hvar which turned into best summer ever in spite of the pandemic. The most friendly people, great food, beautiful beaches and for a few weeks.. fun nightclubs. All without the normal crush of tourists that would otherwise clog the place up. Made some lifelong friends on this trip and cannot wait to get myself back to Hvar in 2021. And other than the time difference (stayed on NYC time), I had no issues working remotely from the island whatsoever. For the most part, I t

Jarabacoa is an amazing town. It has a lot of local tourism from Dominicans so there are a lot of excursions like horseback riding, rafting, excursions, waterfalls, parasailing and more. Very nice and underrated city. Many parks, and things to do. The best neighborhoods are Centro (near Shopping Estacao) and Batel (near Praca Japao). You can do everything on foot. Everything is cheap by European standards. The nightlife is very good, Latin America standard. Women are beautiful. Security is okay in these neighborhoods, but be aware. English speaking is only possible with young people or some adults. The weather is good and comfortable in the fall. One of my favorite cities in Bra

What an amazing city, the vibe of the city will pull you into the present moment. And I found it hard to be very productive as there was always cool things going on everywhere. Safety is a concern. For longer stays I think Barra de tijuca is good, but for a month or shorter it's best to stay in copacabana, ipanema and leblon. My favorite place would be in the middle of copacabana and ipanema. Florianopolis is absolutely beautiful. Amazing beaches and hiking. The seafood here is incredible. YOU NEED A CAR HERE. This place is hard to navigate without a vehicle. This city is incredible. Now I understand why Parisians look down on other cities. It is endless. Museums, history, cool bars, incredible food, diversity, beautiful people nicely dressed... People either hate this place or love it. I am more on the hating side. Feels fake af, overpriced. The city is either a business downtown, either an outdated fancy chick area, either a slump. And don't get me started on human rights here. I'd visit it for a week or two just as a tourist, but definitely not live here for longer.

We have lived in Abu Dhabi for over four years and it is an amazing city! It is completely safe (for couples, solo women, etc.) and there is so much to do. The nightlife is plentiful and alcohol is easily available in licensed places (nearly all hotel bars and restaurants). The locals are friendly, and everyone speaks English. We absolutely love this city.
