Which country in Central America is best to work remotely?

by @marss |  | 5 comments

Hey nomads,

I have just started working fully nomad a few days ago.
My first place outside of Germany will be the Dominican Republic next week.
However, I am already going to need the next flight for after that.
My carrier told me that they will bounce me at the check-in otherwise.
Which country in CA do you recommend for the next stop?

I need very stable internet, as I work a lot over skype. It does not need to be fast however. Cheap, but tropcial and at the sea would be preferred!
I thought about Panama, but I read that the internet sucks and it is expensive there.

Best,
Marss

Introduce yourself — who are you, where are you and what do you do?

by @coffeeshopceo |  | 672 comments

tl;dr: introduce yourself in this thread.

We must all get sick of the same backpacker travel questions when we meet new friends, I know I do.

You know the ones - where are you from, where’ve you been, where are you going, what do you do, how long have you been doing it - etc.

The novelty of answering these questions wears off after maybe a week, but they’re nonetheless insightful and no matter how much we hate them, we find ourselves asking others.

So let’s bring the dreaded backpacker questionnaire to NomadForum and introduce ourselves shall we?

**

  • what’s your name?
  • where are you from?
  • how long have you been away from home?
  • what do you do?
  • where are you currently?
  • where are you going?
  • what has been memorable for you so far?
  • will you go home anytime soon?
  • what have you learnt during your time as a nomad?
  • [insert your own question here]

**

No need to answer them all if you don’t want to
But the more you share… The merrier!

How is Cartagena, Colombia for digital nomads?

in Cartagena, Colombia by @jackie_dischler |  | 8 comments

Hi - I’m looking for a good place to stay for a few weeks, work, have a beach, a bit to see… has anybody been to Cartagena and can say something about cost of living, scene, beach, Wifi (reliable??), safety. Or is somebody there right now? I plan to go in about 4 weeks! Thanks!

Are there any marketing nomads here?

by @neutron |  | 12 comments

Just interested. A lot of the remote jobs seem to be for developers, so can understand that it would be development heavy. Would be interested to find out if there are any marketer nomads, and what they do to find work etc

Best co-working spaces in Berlin?

in Berlin, Germany by @magalhini |  | 10 comments

Hi there!
I’m about to finally make a move from London to Berlin and I’ll be staying around Kreuzberg/Neukölln. I’ve noticed a great selection of co-working spaces around there, which is great! But most of them don’t actually give too many details on what they can offer and what the environment is like.

Any personal recommendations from you Berliners out there? Which ones get the busiest? Any particular ones to avoid? Ideally I’d find a floating desk with a great community around; I love socialising around co-working spaces so that would be a big plus

Most of them also seem to open at 9am only, I couldn’t find any so far that would be open before. Suggestions?

Thanks! I hope to see some of you around Berlin starting from August
