Good European tax advisor for British nomads?

by @tuesdaygroup |  | 10 comments

Hey Iโ€™m reaching out for some help,

I know there is a similar thread but that is really focused on a US expat perspective, however ideally iโ€™m looking for a EU based firm/ individual to help advisor me on tax and company structures . I am a UK citizen, that travels extensively around Europe. I have customers from all over the world mainly UK and US at the moment. Im looking for someone that specializes in European tax law.

I want to be sure and consult some professional help first.

Topic to discuss are:

  • where to incorporate to lower taxes with consideration to having good banking and payment processors options- Ideally this needs to be somewhere within the EU as some of my current payment merchants require EU registration.
  • advanced tax ruling options
  • best method to pay myself
-best method to pay staff *(international)
-Best way to structure the business
    -A few others โ€ฆ

Ideally Iโ€™m looking for recommendation from nomads ? Any suggestions?

If anyone is qualified and would like to schedule a skype call iโ€™m happy to pay them for the initial consultation or any open general direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Tim

Digital work in return for lodgings and food?

by @tuesdaygroup |  | 18 comments

Hi Everyone,

Iโ€™m myself a digital nomad. So this is a nomad 2 nomad question

It seems to be a popular trend for people to live and work on local farms in returns for daily meals and lodgings. (Southern Portugal)

Typically for 1-3 months periods

My Question
Iโ€™m just purely throwing out an idea here. But would any digital nomads be interested in a similar deal ?. Digital work in return for lodgings and food??

Im interested to hear peoples feelings on this one, be it good or bad! I understand this wouldnt be for everyone but a might be appealing to others?

Thanks for reading my question. If any nomads are interested right off the bat feel free to drop me a PM for further details.

Introduce yourself โ€” who are you, where are you and what do you do?

by @coffeeshopceo |  | 670 comments

tl;dr: introduce yourself in this thread.

We must all get sick of the same backpacker travel questions when we meet new friends, I know I do.

You know the ones - where are you from, whereโ€™ve you been, where are you going, what do you do, how long have you been doing it - etc.

The novelty of answering these questions wears off after maybe a week, but theyโ€™re nonetheless insightful and no matter how much we hate them, we find ourselves asking others.

So letโ€™s bring the dreaded backpacker questionnaire to NomadForum and introduce ourselves shall we?

**

  • whatโ€™s your name?
  • where are you from?
  • how long have you been away from home?
  • what do you do?
  • where are you currently?
  • where are you going?
  • what has been memorable for you so far?
  • will you go home anytime soon?
  • what have you learnt during your time as a nomad?
  • [insert your own question here]

**

No need to answer them all if you donโ€™t want to
But the more you shareโ€ฆ The merrier!

Lisbon vs Barcelona for mid- to long-term stay: any advice?

in Lisbon, Portugal by @tvrhe |  | 24 comments

Hi guys,

From this spring onwards Iโ€™m returning to Europe and Iโ€™m looking to either set up a home base in Lisbon or Barcelona. Any fellow nomads who can share their experiences of living in either of those cities?

Iโ€™ve only been to Barcelona and I like the vibe a lot. Major downside is the tourists (obviously).

To me it seems that both cities have good infrastructure, internet, climate (mediterranean), nightlife, culture, food, beaches (and Lisbon is good for surfing as well of course). Price wise, Lisbon is obviously a bit cheaper.

One important consideration is the public transport. Since Iโ€™m not looking to rent a car I prefer the city where I can travel on foot, bike or metro.

Based on my limited info, itโ€™s hard to pick one. Any advice would be very much appreciated!
