There have been a couple of questions regarding posts related to Ukraine support and self-promotion.
Of course, we wholeheartedly support any form of assistance to help the community, we still have to err on the side of caution regarding people's ulterior motives.
Nomad List is no stranger to promotional posts that are slanted towards "charity". As this is a paid community that is mostly comprised of members with ample disposable income, we are regularly the target of scammers. Usually, it's your typical run-of-the-mill scam, however, every so often, we have some try to scam in the guise of helping people.
In the past, we've had to manage instances of:
โข GoFundMe style campaigns aimed at "charity" that were funding Coworking spaces.
โข Sites created with donation links etc, that started off legitimate, but changed to scams at a later date.
โข Services advertised as free and charitable, which were promoted by individuals who used it as a method of self-promotion.
โข Blogs posting "help" as a way to guide traffic.
โข Outright scams.
In general, any link posted to the community that is off-topic to the channel will be scrutinised. Chances are, by another member of the community first (if the bot hasn't captured it), and then reported to me. If it is a link to aid in the current Ukraine conflict that is not an internationally recognised organisation, it'll likely be removed.
Additionally, the terms of service will still apply, regardless of the nature of the post. You can view them at
