1 user has been timed out for 1 year for breaching the terms of service.

Incident multiple spam/flooding attempts over the past year. Already has received 4 mod warnings and 2 prior time-outs - prior ModBot warnings not counted. Only posts in the last 12 months have been attempts at breaching the ToS. The user's post from earlier today initially resulted in a warning until logs were manually reviewed.

As requested by the community, these posts are for transparency purposes whenever the standard time-out process as to be escalated beyond usual response. Ideally we avoid time-outs/account suspensions however on occasions, alternative responses are required for users who regularly skirt the terms of service or are blatantly taking advantage of the community. Details of the user's account status are shared as a reminder that users are willing to forfeit their paid accounts to take advantage of the community, so moderation is required.

Why are we moving to Telegram?

Slack has repeatedly shown to be a community-hostile platform - especially since the recent acquisiton by Salesforce, shutting down big Slack communities and forcing them to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars per year just to keep their community functioning. :cry:

Telegram is built for large communities and is happy to support them groups can hold up to 200,000 members! The most of any chat app.

Telegram also gives us more ways to develop tools for Nomad List members on Telegram. New features like sharing your location and instantly adding trips without using the site, and we have many more ideas to build.
