Beyond a certain level of revenue it's a no-brainer
if other incentives align
Ofc but for the average nomad, itโ€™s not that big of a difference
Yeah I agree
For me it's useful to extract myself from the UK. Dubai less tax but most of my clients won't accept
I can have funkier setups once the UK is convinced I've gone
bvvyahgnn and guys the problem with transferwise is that it currently doesnโ€™t accept applications from cypriot companies
True need a cy business bank account which takes a while
Iโ€™m not in a hurry

If you want to get unlimited data for 68 euros per month, just give a random address and your passport, not need for utility bill
With Cyta and without contract
kwbxaaiq which company did you use for 3rd party insurance in Cyprus?
According to itโ€™s automatically included in all rentals, so never mindโ€ฆ
yep, but there is always an excess amount. so I had an insurance that covers the excess
dam - wish i knew about that
Hi massimo, I will be coming to Nicosia in 2 weeks ๐Ÿ‘‹
Me too ๐Ÿ‘‹ (will be there in 2 weeks)
tmgdglnmb how long have you been in Nicosia? Do you have any tips for first timers?
Has anyone tried to have something shipped to themselves in Cyprus before? I have coffee machine replacement part I need sent from Hong Kong (worth about $10 USD) and Iโ€™m trying to figure out whether to have it shipped to myself there or wait until Iโ€™m in some other country.
Hey rvncfqvai and tckssrq !! Good to meet you both. I've been living in Nicosia for about 5 years in and out as I've been traveling back and forth from there to Rome and Barcelona.
It's a a very relaxing, but also interesting place to visit. Keep in mind that it's the last divided capital in the world
There's a Greek and a Turkish occupied side
Both offer a lot to visitors, in terms of culture, food and experiences so I'm sure you'll love it
Yeah, Iโ€™ve been watching videos about it, it seems fascinating in terms of modern history and the unusual division between the Greek, Turkish, UN and British. I canโ€™t wait to see what itโ€™s like.
Do you often go to the Turkish occupied side of town for things, or pretty much stay to the Greek side?
I would wait personally. It's really difficult for anything coming from outside the EU.
Not difficult just expensive sadly
Hey, anyone got insight into single tickets into cyprus as a brit? Hoping I don't have to buy a return ticket in. Double vaxxed too if that makes any difference
Cyprus divides tourist into three categories depending on their country of origin. UK is in the red category which doesn't mean anything.

Germany is in the same category and I will be entering Cyprus without needing a test. All I need is proof of vaccination and I'm assuming that's the same for you.

I'm traveling on a one-way ticket btw
I'm American and entered Cyprus from Greece about a week ago. I had to show my vaccine card and the passenger locator form. Didn't need a test or outbound ticket. But my American friends came a week earlier (also from Greece) and they got tested upon arrival
I came from the UK to Paphos about 2 weeks ago. Had PCR Test before flying and then they test you again when you land.... cost 20 euros and that's it.
I'm currently in Paphos if anyone is passing through or fancies having a few beers or food give me a shout! I'm staying here until the end of January ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you - will check it out! ๐Ÿ‘
I just arrived in Paphos too with a little nomad gang. Staying in Paphos until Saturday before we move on to Lacarna.
Just arrived in Cyprus. In Paphos till Saturday and the Larnaca for
Anybody in Larnaca this week? ๐Ÿ˜Ž
I just changed plans and will be coming to Paphos instead of Nicosia. Is anybody around who wants to grab a drink on Saturday?
I'll be going to Paphos on Sunday, so regrettably won't make it for a drink on Saturday, but I'd be in on Sunday evening or next week! vskin-tone-3
Letโ€™s push the meetup to Sunday. This place seems to be nice location to grab a bite

Great! I'm in! +1skin-tone-3 What about 19:00?
Awesome! Let me know in case you're up for lunch or a coffee tomorrow! vskin-tone-3
Works for me ๐Ÿ‘ See you Sunday at 7pm

Hi all. What's the best mobile SIM in Cyprus? And are there mobile stores at the Paphos airport?
Iโ€™ve heard that that|Cyta is the fastest> (5G) but itโ€™s not cheap. If you want an inexpensive 4G option Iโ€™ve had a good experience with primetel. Also if your phone has eSim capabilities you can purchase and install it before even arriving (see
I still use my German sim. Researched it a bit and saw it recommended that it might be cheaper to keep an EU sim, considering roaming etc in EU is free
E sim is new to me, thanks edtyxxu
Think I'll just do that I look at it. Thanks again!!!
Did I get the wrong plan or something? I walked into a Cyta store and got something called 'pay as you go'? It's 8mb down lol...
Hyperspeed ๐Ÿ™Œ How much did you pay?
It was cheap, like 15 eur
They didn't offer anything else...
It's probably expensive to run a phone service for not that many people. I just reactivated my Greek sim card and got 3GB for 4โ‚ฌ with 50 MBit down
Yeah I am thinking that may be the case

Hi everyone,

I have a British passport so can only spend 90 days in EU and hit my limit last week. I came back home to Cape Town and planned to stay here until I can return to Europe but poverty and crime have gotten out of hand and I don't want to stay here.

I'm thinking of coming to Cyprus because I need to stay in German timezone and my understanding is it's separate to schengen visa days.

I've never been to Cyprus but it looks cool and I'm thinking of coming in January for 1-2 months. Looking to spend max EU 2000 p/m on accommodation somewhere near a good gym and decent restaurants. I'd appreciate any recommendations on areas and accommodation. Thanks!
Paphos is really nice and there is the coworking space with a great community, but itโ€™s quieter than the other cities (Limassol/Larnaca).
It probably depends on how much you like city vs village life.. ?
Paphos looks amazing, thanks for the recommendation!
Can highly recommend Paphos if you want a good vibe
Any tips for neighborhood/ monthly accomm?
I would check with Hรผgge coworking and ask the owner Nikolas.
They also help expats rent out the accomodations
You should look at where you wanna live i.e. old town or down by the harbor
Thanks for the tips! ๐Ÿ™
I just saw a South African grocery section at the local store here in Paphos, so I am guessing there is an SA community here as well :)
A lot of Danish and German peeps over there
but I have met some South African people as well
anybody in limassol these days? ๐Ÿ˜Ž
any car rental suggestions?
There's an app called RideNow which allows you to rent by the minute if you only need to do some short trips (I can share an invite code that gives you 3โ‚ฌ credits). It works as long as you start and finish your trip in either Paphos or Limassol.
ah i do remember that one! thanks - decent amount of cars available?
Usually yea. I used it a lot until I bought my own.

If you're here longer then doing a hertz rental is definitely more convenient
(HJXYF4 if you go for ride now)
cheers mate
Has anyone tried getting a Covid vaccination or booster shot in Cyprus? According to itโ€™s available for refugees and asylum seekers at walk-in clinics. However Iโ€™m not sure if that means it would be available for tourists.
```This article mentions that you have to be over the age of 40 to be eligible for a booster shot. And your second shot has to be more than six months old. I think the walk in centers mostly cater to non-vaccinated people
in-cyprus.philenews. com/operation-hours-of-walk-in-vaccination-centers-extended-as-of-monday/```
๐Ÿ›ฌ oarkstzbq just arrived in ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡พ Limassol, #cyprus
I've gotten vaccinated through the Walk In centres here but you need to have the Yellow Slip (Registration Certificate) to get vaccinated.
Getting the Yellow Slip takes months
From IATA covid map, it looks like they just banned entry from South Africa unless you are an EU citizen
Did you get vaccinated for the first time or was that a booster shot?
Hey man, going against the grain here a little bit, but I would recommend Larnaka. There's an awesome entrepreneurs community that has brunch every Saturday. You'll meet a lot of cool people :)
jlhmrsfo iโ€™m in cyprus now - was it a 4g or 5g plan? going to try get a month to month plan
Anyone else tried this?
๐Ÿ›ฌ xnuhawt just arrived in ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡พ Limassol, #cyprus
1st and 2nd dose as somebody not on|gesy, but with yellow slip
4G, I don't know if there is 5G, I don't have it on my phone but the network is excellent
getting a plan worked this morning! Thanks for this one.
Iโ€™m on 5g outside of my apartment but the airbnb has a blackspot ๐Ÿ™‚
Cool it worked for you, enjoy the meteo in Cyprus ๐Ÿ˜‰
