Hello

Any ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท digital nomad here?

I'm struggling with my Bank (Shine) and my Accountant Software (Acasi).

I'm spending most of my time traveling and work for customers in the US and EUR.

Do you have a stack to recommend to myself?
New bank, new accounting system?
I'm also getting paid in USD to my EUR bank account
I'm using boursorama banque as they have the cheapest fees for what I do. For example they will take 20 EUR on incoming international wires + 1% exchange rate (1 EUR = 1.232 USD instead of 1.22 USD)
Hi all. Weโ€™re a nomading family (5yo and 2yo) with a conversational level of French. My 5yo really wants to stay on a farm for a month or two in France. Weโ€™re looking for something less premium/systematized and more just some famers that would love having a foreign (US) family pay to live there for a month and even help out. My sonโ€™s especially hoping to take care of sheep and goats (pretty cute). Any suggestions?
Revolut / Transferwise you might get 0.5% fees

I dont understand what you're looking for ijovmecmezex ?
tbbkhywgy you provide IBAN information to your US customer?
uqgldihuzs I'm looking for a Shine but for international payment/business (Be able to send invoice, receive money)
Yes, I'm not sure how they make it happen but they only needed my RIB to make those wire transfers
can't post link but it seems you can find what you're looking for on accueil-paysan dot ศผร’แน
I had to cope with the same kind of problem (not in France though), so to deal with payment I'm using a Transferwise business account that I'm using as a middleman between the client and my companies bank account
tnufutjq what is your invoicing tool?
Thanks UR5RVCE87. Yes, this is just what we were looking for. Appreciate it!
I'm not using any invoicing tool, my needs are very basic
Have you looked into Quickbooks? it might help with the accounting stuff and itโ€™s pretty affordable
Hi everyone,
Does anybody freelances from France? I recently registered my auto-entreprise. How do you go about signing up to pay contributions and all that stuff?
I've not done it yet but it sounds like you've already registered with these guys right? The URSSAF is the body that handle the collection of taxes and contributions (cotisations) on behalf of liberal professions. You file your returns with them and then make the corresponding payments.
Hi yes but with a corporation (SASU). I think for autoentrepreneur you declare your revenue on the website shared by Jacob.
If you use a corporation you need an accountant.
cpxiwvxvievf I use tiime invoice it's free and for tiime account for receipt. It is linked with by bank account from Qonto (~Shine)
In case you're still wondering to this day, that's correct. Basically, every month OR three months, you put there how much you earned, and pay a % of it through the platform. As simple as that. If you need help, let me know, I'd be happy to help.
I missed all of these notifications!
This is really great, thanks guys!
Hi everyone!
Iโ€™m heading to Corsica in a few weeks until autumn. Did some investigations on a 4G data plan and found โ€œfreeโ€. Do you have any experience with providers on Corsica or better options?
Free is definitely the best bang for your buck but their networks are overcrowded
Every month or so, the top 3 providers run competitive sales through their lower cost subsidiary (Sosh for Orange, B&You for Bouygues Telecom and RED for SFR)
A few days ago Sosh launched a limited offer, about 5โ‚ฌ per month for 20Go over 4G. Not sure if itโ€™s still available but if you want access to the best national network, Orange/Sosh is your best bet.
Awesome! This is really helpful. I appreciate it!
I advise sosh too! The have a great european offer, i pay 20โ‚ฌ for 100go in all europe
Just curious, this is my first day on Nomad List so I apologize for the ignorance. But what do they mean by the "fun" score? I imagine it's subjective but I was shocked to see that Chamonix only scored a 3/5 on the fun scale. Last time I was there the outdoor activities and events were mind blowing; it was impossible to run out of things to do for fun. The amount of skiing, alpinism, climbing, fishing, trail running and water activities in the Haute-Savoie region are nearly endless.
Good question, I think it's just an algorithm that computes this figure automatically. I dont remember if people were allowed to vote for this. Years ago the data behind NL listing were behind a spreadsheet IIRC sooo I dont know how people can influence the scores
get a free mobile sim card at a friend's location and then you can keep it forever when you're traveling abroad you'll have 25 Go per month for 20e :slightly_smiling_face:
free is better abroad than in France though
the prepaid internet cards are expensive in france (and you better buy them in a tobacco place, where they sell cigarettes and newspapers)
but regular sim card you pay every month without a phone so you can stop paying any time you want are cheap
Did you find something cool gwpoosgcawylr ?
so cute ๐Ÿ˜„ !! and you have the Vosges hikes an hour away by car
I guess if getting drunk with a bunch of expats at a full moon party in Thailand isn't available then the city isn't fun ๐Ÿ˜›
Thanks for that. Will order a sim to a friends place in Calvi. Appreciate it!
Works pretty good even in remote locations here on Corsica. Thanks again
agjssgpadj is there a limit on this 25Go/ month?
I'm with SFR, and they claim like every provider to give free roaming in Europe, but the fine prints says "within reasonable usage". Turns out staying out of France for more than 3 months in a row is not reasonable according to them, so they suspend the service after that. ๐Ÿ˜…
I've used Free mobile for the past 2.5 years(!) outside of France. I love it. Cheaper than any plan here in Canada and been great in any country I travel to. Just make sure you log in to your profile and double check the settings. Certain things (like 4G/5G) were off by default back in the day. No idea now. But you can just flip a switch and it's on
Free is working great for me so far. Some places on Corsica have poor coverage and it falls back to 3G. Iโ€™m changing location every 5-7 days right now.
Sorry I don't remember if 1) you pay after you go after the threshold or 2) you just have a lower bitrate.
In France after 100 Go you get a lower bitrate I think. Roaming outside of France I dont know
Hello someone could recommend a good hotel in paris that also has a coworking space? ๐Ÿ™
Hey guys, looking to rent a place for a month in Paris in September, where else do you look besides Airbnb? Thank youuu
jwxrxrnkiispulcx Just curious, any reason why you wouldn't go with Airbnb? My wife is renting a place in Nice in Feb 2022 for a month via Airbnb and I was shocked how inexpensive it was.
There are special reglementations for short term renting in Paris that limit the offer so prices should be higher there than in any other french cities
gxyppqhgjkv I love Airbnb and always rent through them, but since its kinda last minute that arenโ€™t lots of good options, everything seems a bit overpriced. I found other websites with good options but they ask for deposits and I never heard of them before, so was just looking for some insight.
Gotcha bmhykhrwzlkvdtjo that makes sense. Didn't even occur to me that smaller French cities would have completely different rules from Paris. Any luck on sites like Couchsurfing or BeWelcome? I've heard a lot of French residence have been leaving Paris since the pandemic so I'm surprised landlords wouldn't be more competitive.
If you speak French, check leboncoin website. It is like the French Craiglist, and many people (sub)rent their place through this. It will be a challenge if you don't speak French though, but you can always gg translate it.
Maybe FB marketplace as well? I don't know about Paris specifically, but I found it helpful in a few places.

Hey! does anyone know labs where I can book a RT-PCR or TRAg test in Paris for traveling purposes (with certificate)?
There are labs around the city where you just go and take the test, you get the results quite fast 9-24 hours
for PCR
and for antigen you can go to a pharmacy and get it done and get the results in 10-20 minutes
I know a place to get both done in Saint-Ouen but idk where exactly the others are, but you should be able to ask in a pharmacy and they will help you
Hi everyone.
Iโ€™m relocating from Germany to France (non-EU citizen) and looking for recommendation for accountant/tax advice?
Also if anyone went through this process before? not sure what is the right status to have in France as freelance working with US companies
