Just in case someone missed it. You have to get QR code before 1st of December in Georgia. The QR code allows you to visit restaurants, bars, cafes, cinema etc. Here is a website to get QR code />You can get QR code if you are vaccinated (doesnโ€™t matter which vaccine) or recovered from COVID. Just put your passport data on the website (you flight in with) and it generates the code
They also listed that you can get QR code if you had negative PCR in the last 72 hours but it doesnโ€™t make much sense unless you came to Georgia for 3 days.
Wonder if there is a workaround when you are not in their system (but supposed to be). No matter what I try, I get the red message.

Would be neat if this Green Pass will let you be in food/drink establishments past 23:00.

Again QR code? in Georgia? I've never needed it anywhere. In Tbilisi, everyone wore masks, in Batumi no one even wears its nowsmile Why are they re-entering these codes(
gonnyqovzhbk Agree. It's sucks that you didn't get green although you should have. Maybe ask in Public City hall? Not sure where else to go here.
exulzwgecipsrs vaccination rates are really low, they are trying to boost it I guess. I think these QR code will eventually be everywhere , whether we want it or not
Hey Nomads in Tbilisi, anyone want to meet up sometime this week? Coffee or exploring the city?
hi there vxmyjdihp you may also wanna try the several expats in tbilisi facebook groups if you're looking to meet people, there are very active communities here ๐Ÿ™‚
hey, anybody in Batumi who would like to catch up or do some trips around here?

How Batumi feels now when season is over? Is it empty?
I was there two weeks ago and it feels emptier than summer for sure, but still amazing to be honest. I enjoyed the non-existing crowds and the actually walkable promenade ๐Ÿ™‚ It's emptier, but still somehow lively.
well, I have never been here during the season ๐Ÿ˜„ but I can say it is way more busier than Armenia where I was last week but still relatively quiet. And a lot of cheap airbnbs
Nice! Definitely visit it soon for a few days. Wanna to see how Batumi in winter ๐Ÿ™‚ In summer it was super busy.
We could do an outdoor meetup at a park so that we donโ€™t have limits on how many people can come!
Hi everyone in Tbilisi! Do you want to meetup at a park this weekend? It would be great to have a meetup soon :D tsdzooohg gejibpsu vrawluhsrkafaxev uagmlwegy
rsuaycukgvpjvvzgw Yeah, could be great. But I would prefer place with temperature higher than 20C ๐Ÿ˜„ ๐Ÿ˜„
Itโ€™s really chilly outside already
Warm clothes can make it comfortable :) Today, wasnโ€™t too cold. Itโ€™s nice if there is no wind.
who came from Bali doesnโ€™t have warm clothes ahaha ๐Ÿ˜„
Itโ€™s my first winter in 4 years ๐Ÿ˜„
Hey I actually just left yesterday but I hope you have a great meetup. I had a great time with the expats group of Facebook

So they just denied my entrance to the gym this morning due to only having the first doze of the jab, they didn't care that I'm booked for the second doze next week, there was no way around it.

Things have gotten strict here.

Just FYI.
Interesting because Iโ€™ve heard these apps with scans donโ€™t work and they just pass everyone through without care. Itโ€™s what I heard from Shopping malls food courts
Went to my local cafe, nobody asked anything ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ
I brought my yellow vaccine card because I couldn't get the QR code, the restaurant accepted it. We also went to the public service hall yesterday but they can't help and said the app is only if you were vaccinated in Georgia but I know some people got the Covid Pass/ QR code even if they were vaccinated abroad.
Isn't the Georgian QR code EUDCC compatible? ๐Ÿค” (meaning it should be accepted in Europe and all EUDCC QR-codes should be accepted in Georgia as well?)
Well, all vaccines are working in Georgia and you can get QR code and European QR codes are working here.
But not the other way around. You canโ€™t get to EU with Georgian Green pass/QR code.
I think they discussing it right now to be accepted in Europe, at least for green passports (which only you can get with local vaccination)
Walked into Galleria mall this morning, nobody asked for anything
By the way, random questions are QR's in the EU passports kinda 'special' and can not be read/scanned with ordinary readers like my phone's camera? I'm able to scan all QR's with my camera, but my COVID passport's doesn't work ๐Ÿ˜•
I think all QR codes are just data, usually itโ€™s just text
So it could be read by all QR readers. The question is what can your reader do with this data. For example, iPhone camera I think only scan QR codes that have links.
Just been to a restaurant in batumi. They scanned my Georgian QR code. Nothing happened. Afterwards they tried the EU Covid Pass. Worked. ๐ŸŒš
Yeah, I think in December itโ€™s gonna be a mess ๐Ÿ˜„
ioiijazn how is the weather in Batumi? Thinking about going there for a couple of month. Not to count yesterdayโ€™s storm ๐Ÿ˜„
Yesterday and today was totally shitty. But tomorrow it supposed to be 20+ degrees and sun ๐ŸŒž
When I arrived on Monday it was like arriving in Bali ๐Ÿ˜‚ 25 degrees and ๐ŸŒด
U01GBDCU0BHbr />No, you can't read EUDCC QR-codes just with your camera, you need an app. You can check out French "TousAntiCovid" app, it should read all EUDCC-compatible QR-codes.

Hey everyone, I have a fear of flying and I have been living in Georgia most of my life. I am traveling to Spain and France in two days with my friends, but I have constant anxiety just thinking about getting to the airport.

It is weird to ask in the nomad community about being afraid of flying, but if anyone knows some tricks or medication that worked for them or for their friends to overcome this unreasonable fear, please share it with me. I have already watched a lot of videos regarding that topic and read a lot of articles, but I just cannot calm my anxiety for some reason.

On top of that, I already miss my wife and son, I am emotional most of the time that I wonโ€™t be there for them. I know I am overthinking and dramatizing the whole situation, I am just going for a week, but still, the emotions and thoughts are there.
hgauufrqbqq Hey! I have fear of flying my whole life and the last 3 years of full-tme nomading as well. It became a little bit better with more flights but it probably wonโ€™t go fully away.

So a few tips thatโ€™s helping me a little:
โ€ข I open Flyradar app or website quite often before flight day to see how many planes are in the sky to remind myself how impossible small chance that something happen
โ€ข I sometimes read articles like โ€œwhat has bigger chance than flight crushโ€. Just as example, being eaten by shark is much more likely
โ€ข Donโ€™t focus on the process of travel but destination and what a great thing youโ€™re going to be doing there! Imagine how youโ€™ll explore Spain and try French wine.
โ€ข Noise-cancelling headphones was a huge help for me. But if you donโ€™t have one just ignore any sounds plane makes when you on it. Itโ€™s totally normal for a plane to make different sounds and planes nowadays is absolutely safest things on the whole planet.
โ€ข Also, great if you have something interesting to do on the plane like videogame, book or movie. It would be better if itโ€™ll be something positive.
โ€ข Try to meditate and and focus on other things in the flight day. I totally understand it could be really anxious and you canโ€™t think about anything except flight but try to relax anyway.
If you still feel anxious just consider this as the thing you have to go thought. Itโ€™s mostly as I do most of the travel days, just nervous the whole day from the morning and feel super happy when I finally land on the destination.

In case you just have to do something you can try drink some alcohol but be extremely careful with this. Some level of alcohol intoxication could increase the fear. A couple of time I was drinking wine on the plane and it made the whole thing easier but a few times it made things worse, so be careful.

Also, donโ€™t feel bad about yourself. Itโ€™s very common types of phobia and youโ€™re not alone!
Thanks for the tips zolfvjcg I appreciate it ๐Ÿ™ I think the biggest fear I have is not being in control and completely trusting someone else. Also, if I have panic attack I will poop on the trip for my friends and other people who are also flying.

The last time I had a flight, I was super nervous until take-off, but I went back to normal shortly after the plane was up in the air, I was even laughing out of happiness and enjoyment that it was not a big deal at all and I went through regardless of my unreasonable behavior. It might be the same this time, but it is extremely hard to concentrate on anything while having constant anxiety and fear ๐Ÿ˜“
Yeah, same for me. After plane is up in the air I became completely calm until landing.
Hey everyone, are there any Indians here staying in Georgia right now?
Hello hello, so I am arriving at 4 AM on Wednesday and canโ€™t check-in till around noon-ish.

Any suggestions on places (cafe/coworking) that open super-early that we can spend time at + work from? Our Airbnb is near Freedom Square and scrolling up, Iโ€™ve seen Brunch and Stamba as two options.

Is there anything else I should be considering? Thanks in advance!
stamba might be the only place? I think theyโ€™ll let you come in, but I donโ€™t think itโ€™ll be open.

A lot of places Iโ€™ve seen here donโ€™t open till around 10am
Stamba looks like it opens at 8 AM? And so does Brunch?

I also found Terminal which apparently has a 24/7 reception and a day pass.
hmm interesting. I go to Stamba a lot. Thereโ€™s a couple places inside of it though. I donโ€™t know if thatโ€™s the restaurant or the co-working spot.

Edit the co-working spot is usually open, but you canโ€™t order anything there until like 10am

Terminal might be your best bet.
Yeah, Iโ€™ve reached out to them. Hoping to hear back soon. ๐Ÿคž
Impact Hub Tbilisi

They should be open 24 hours
Also inexpensive hostel in same place if you want to rest

Ended up going to Terminal, they were quire nice about the whole situation and left at around noon to grab lunch and then head to the Airbnb!
Hey yโ€™all, in terms of safety, how late is it okay to stay out/walk around outside? We just got done with work and were about to head out for dinner and I was wondering if we were good to just walk around after?
Safe. Georgia is safe in general (even safer than some European countries). The situation got worse with the pandemic but still quite ok.
Ah, nice to know. Will try not to stay out too late either way and be back in an hour or two!
I personally never felt unsafe walking alone in the middle of the night. I never heard about any street robbery incidents in Tbilisi. With the pandemic people started to steal from cars which never used to happen before in Georgia but other than that it's still pretty safe.
Can confirm. Georgia is one of the safest country in the world. Much safer than most of the Europe and the US. So it's very safe to walk around at night :)
Locals are just laying around their stuff everywhere, nobody cares.

Hey everyone! Iโ€™ll be in Tbilisi in a few days and I got a place near Avlabari Square. Does anyone know of any good gyms in/close to that area?
Hey guys!! I arrived in Tbilisi a few days ago, anyone wanna hangout, explore the city and/or get a drink or something :beers:? Also, do you have any suggestions for nice running routes in tne city ? Thx!!
Hi!! Did you find anything? I might be interested by a nice gym ๐Ÿ™‚ !!!!
Hey! I have found two promising ones on Google, Urban Garden and Fit Club. They're not exactly within walking distance but I'll check them out when I'm there and see if they're any good. ๐Ÿ˜Š
Ok cool! Also, I'm looking for a running partner in case you're interested :man-running::wink:!?!!
Cardio and I don't get along really well I'm afraid ๐Ÿ˜„ Thank you though!
Haha ok, got it ๐Ÿ˜‰ !!!

Also anyone here had experience opening an LLC?
Guyz what is the actual cost of living in tbilsi?
It depends on your lifestyle but I have video about this on my channel from my perspective
tldr; I spend 900$ per month with my spouse.
wow man, good job. Very helpful video. Cheers!
Really depends on your lifestyle. Average salary is still around $300/m here and people make it work. I've done $500 months and I've done $5k months, I'd say budget around $1k for comfortable living in a good area
My budget was around 1200-1300$/month staying in a central AirBnb and eating ONLY restaurant food. That excludes trips to other locations outside Tbilisi.
dxhefzw very depends on what youโ€™re looking for. Most popular areas among expats are Vake (most expensive one), Vera, Chiguretu. I live in Saburtalo which is cheaper area but I found a really nice neighbourhood here Jikia house.

PS You can check another video on my channel called โ€œLiving in Tbilisiโ€ for details :)
Thanks UEVA2G3DH! I saw some of your videos, really like them
Thank you! ๐Ÿ™Œ
Vake is the "nicest" - area near round garden is the best IMO. I prefer Zemo Vera or Sololaki - nature and city centre within walking distance and lots of great cafes and restaurants. Lisi area if you want to be away from the chaos. Saburtalo if you want to live like a local.
So, the head at security at my company didn't want me taking my laptop to "Russian-controlled/influenced" countries, including Ukraine (apparently there was a big attack on many networks, including Maersk's, there), and for some reason, Georgia. I'm going to try to get more info on what exactly he's worried about... I get the feeling that people don't know much about Georgia and just think "Former USSR, near Russia, must be "Russian-influenced". By any chance has anyone dealt with something similar, and are things I could show them to prove Georgia is a (digitally and legally) safe place to work from?
(It's a US company, BTW)
Please donโ€™t tell anybody here or in Ukraine that they are โ€œRussian-controlled/influencedโ€. You can get beaten up ๐Ÿ˜„
Well, itโ€™s different country with their own network, not related in any way on Russia. Not sure what proves that he wants. If heโ€™s worried about hacker attacks, it could happen in the US too. Probably even have bigger chance.
Maybe you can just use VPN? Or he worried somebody attacks your laptop?
Thanks. Yeah, I need to get more info on what he's worried about I guess. He referenced the NotPetya attack that particularly targeted Ukrainian... I guess he was worried if they got control of an ISP or something??? ๐Ÿคท He did suggest using a VPN when I asked about other countries I might want to work from (Serbia, Morocco).
I'm not sure it would really affect me in Georgia but the increasing tensions in that part of the world right now don't really help my case ๐Ÿ˜ž
I would also think that Ukraine is in a bit different situation than Georgia and they are not connected in any way. I donโ€™t think there were any attacks on Georgian networks for years.
Also, there is no increasing tension in Georgia or any specific tension in this part of the world. At least I donโ€™t see it.
I've never found the internet unreliable there, in the co-working spaces
Consistent power during hotter weather however.....
I had various luck with wi-fi at AirBnB's. If you get Magti's unlimited mobile internet as a hotspot/backup, you should be good.
You need your passport for arrival and thatโ€™s it. But you also need to check COVID situation specifically for your case (vaccination, PCR test etc).
Iโ€™ve never had issues with home or mobile Internet during the 7 months stay. I use Magti for both. In Airbnb it could be bad, honestly I donโ€™t know any country where Internet is reliable in Airbnb. Mostly because how people do their connection. But in non-shared apartments itโ€™s usually more/less good.
Airbnb is the same as everywhere, nothing special about Georgia in that sense.

Hope it helps!
PS You also didnโ€™t specify the city so by default I assume Tbilisi. In other regions it could be different
internet is perfect and very stable with either silknet or magti (up to 100 mbps on wifi, same on lte depending on your reception)... also, it's very affordable :slightly_smiling_face:

re. airbnb, i guess it's like everywhere else in the world, you could be lucky or not... so far i've been lucky with all the airbnb's i booked here, just be sure to carefully understand the check in instructions as sometimes finding the right door is quite difficult as most of them are not "labelled"

beautiful country, beautiful people and beautiful traditions :slightly_smiling_face:

welcome to sakartvelo!
Hey. Are there any coworkings or good places to work from in Batumi?
There is one coworking on google maps but Iโ€™ve honestly never been there. Iโ€™m moving to Batumi in 4 days so curious as well.
We should hint Terminal Tbilisi to open up a branch there ๐Ÿ˜„
