I lived in the three cities area for nearly 3y, there are some nice places to eat and a ferry or small boat to Valetta. Loved it

I lived in the kalkara waterfront but there was work going on there by the end, I'd do senglea or birgu if I went back

Winter is a bit wet but still nice (you are so close to north Africa there it's always warm enough, I wore shorts 365 days a year easy

Did you work there or paid taxes or got residence permit or visa for that long?

I had UK citizenship but it was after they left the EU. Malta kindly allowed Brits to move in the "transition period" and get residency

I had my own company while I was there, the tax regime is quite favourable

Best cafe for work is Lot 61 Coffee Roasters the one in Spinola Park, Triq Mikiel Ang Borg, St. Julian’s. It’s in a food court so there is a lot of space and free wifi.
