Will live in Madrid just to help Barcelona with their over tourism problem
I'll be around in two week's if this is still happening! I'm meandering northbound from Seville, but rented an AirBnb in Barcelona come October

Barcelona has become, unfortunately, the place in Spain with more crime
does she do remote lessons over zoom? (not sure i can dm yet new member)
There is a digital nomad group in Barcelona on Meetup .com
Yup, going to a meetup now

Does anyone know an electronics mall in Barcelona (like low yat plaza in Kuala Lumpur)
There's a bunch of stores , not a "only electronics" mall
Fnac, worten, El Corte Ingles
Anybody here legally exceed their ninety day schengen cap using the separate ninety day spain cap?
I hear this is a thing
if youโ€™re out of schengen days, you can still travel directly to spain and stay in spain for up to 90 days regardless of how many days you were in schengen
itโ€™s a separate treaty negotiated directly between individual countries, not through the EU
thereโ€™s a nomad in #poland who did it there, was thinking of trying to do it in Spain as well
Wow, do you know which countries negotiated such a treaty?
Does anyone know or has anyone recently entered Spain from a high risk country? Iโ€™m travelling from Italy (high risk area) to Spain. It looks like proof of vaccination should be enough? No need for PCR? Thanks!
Wish same was applicable to the UK nationals ๐Ÿ˜ซ would have loved to stay in Spain more than the allowed 90 days quota ๐Ÿ˜ญ
got it thanks!
Having to navigate the same issue cfbxuej is there any work around that anyone has seen for UK citizens?

No issues at all. Just needed to fill out the PLF and be vaccinated and that was all that was required ๐ŸŽ‰ โ˜€๏ธ ๐Ÿ–
hpfhjibvxyluha Looks like ETIAS is 2022 onwards, do you have a link/writing around Spain's negotiated period for US citizens as it stands now?
I havenโ€™t been able to get in touch with the embassy in Spain to confirm, but it looks like this agreement has been in place for many years, just like the one in Hungary
I did confirm today at the Hungarian immigration office that this waiver works in Hungary, so itโ€™s technically possible to spend 180 days in a row visa-free in Hungary
Iโ€™m looking to rent a place in Barcelona and just wondered if anyone knew if poble sec or poble nou were good neighborhoods to be based in etc
husanqseix did you have the option to not be vaccinated and have negative pcr test ? Iโ€™m vaccinated but traveling with an American who isnโ€™t and we are flying from Rome to Barcelona on Monday
They are both good
Poblenou is a little bit more quiet, it is mostly offices and some other workplaces so it's quite dead during weekends but it's near enough Barcelona beaches, even tho most Barcelona beaches aren't so impressive since you can quickly hop on a train to go to a better one in a nearby town
Also it varies a lot since poblenou stretches from Carrer de la Marina all the way to besos river, but staying near the beach around the rambla de poblenou is nice
Poblesec is more lively, much noisier and further away from beaches, but it has awesome local bars, it's close to some nice spots like Sant Antoni, it's further away from the beach but close to Montjuic area
Also it's a little hilly but nothing too steep, away from Carrer de blai it's quiet enough as well
If you don't know Barcelona well enough I'd suggest going to poblesec since you'll be closer to more interesting spots
Poble Nou is amazing, been staying here for more than 10 days and could absolutely see myself living here if I had to live in Barcelona
acqcaslwht both very good neighborhoods

bluzwhtpwb from what I remember if youโ€™re from a high risk country (list updated a few days ago) and aren't vaccinated you need a pcr. Vaccinated and from high risk is fine.
But with that said we came from Schengen to Schengen so we werenโ€™t asked for passports, just the PLF. itโ€™s most likely at the gate where they'll ask for all your documentation and vaccines/tests.
Gf is saying/thinking lat flow might be okay if not coming from high risk. Worth checking.
Thank you so much for all the feedback I heard the el born area near Picasso museum is a bit rough but I found a steal of an apartment so just wondering
Don't live there
Ok thank you - I guess you donโ€™t know of any two bedroom apartments available from Monday 20th. For two months in a nicer area ๐Ÿคช
Well, if you're homeless then by all means do go there ๐Ÿ˜‚
Hey everyone, I just landed in Madrid and am calling it home base for a few weeks before moseying on over to Barcelona. Anyone want to grab a drink, see the museums, and just be a tourist in general?
I'm late to the party, but +1 to PobleNou! I have been living here close to the beach and the Rambla and it's nice and safe
My ranking for living there is:
1- Sant Antoni
2- Eixample/Esquerra
3- Poble Sec
4- Poble Nou

Gracia & Born are cool, but lots of noise and hustle bustle
Thank you everyone for the feedback much appreciated
wlgffk I am yet to find a way. Please share if you did came across a solution (!)
any idea how to rent a car for a month in Spain mainland (preferably Barcelona) under 300โ‚ฌ?
The cheapest Iโ€™ve seen is Cabrera Medina in Canarias, pre-covid I saw a few deals around that price but they donโ€™t work in the mainland as far as I know. Their website has currently a lowest price of 569โ‚ฌ but you may be able to get a better deal if you visit a location.
But if you do find something like that in Madrid let me know ๐Ÿ™‚
I'm seeing a 30 day rental from Madrid for about 500 USD, with a 3000 km distance limit from "OK Rent a Car" via the "rentalcars" website (that's the domain - can't post links). Not familiar with "OK Rent a Car" car company though - you may need an international driving permit to use them.
I used OK once and it was OK
Well it lived up to the name ๐Ÿ˜†
I'll be up for a drink. I'll arrive tomorrow to Madrid and also stay couple of weeks
Would love ot know what you think! Might get there in early October. Let me know if you're still around!

Hi there!! Anyone knows good places in Madrid for Coworking??
I'll go tomorrow to check out Utopicus the one they have at Castellana
The videos emerging are cray cray
Has anyone flown into #spain from #mexico recently? It looks like residents of Canada can enter spain but we're coming from Mexico...which I haven't found anything that speaks specifically to that.
Hey lovely nomads - we just arrived in Barcelona and I have some work deadlines and my friend who has never been to this awesome city is wanting to get out and explore - do you know of anything thatโ€™s happening tonight or tomorrow or this weekend that she can participate in as join up with yโ€™all cos unfortunately Iโ€™m a little boring for the next few days whilst I meet these deadlines

Thanks so much
La Merce is happening this weekend, not sure what's happening due to covid but I'm sure there's some stuff
Not sure what will happen but for any events you need to book in advance due to covid regulations

But it was like this for the festas de Gracia and while you had to book most people just hung outside venues drinking which I believe is likely to repeat at la merce
Yup, same in poble nou
Also they just announced clubs can open outside areas until 3am but no idea what club has outside areas, but they are doing this to give more options for people to go out and not do botellon (street drinking parties)
Maybe monumental has events and its outside

ilxpcqav are you in poble nou ?we are on the ramblas in poble nou -well at least till Monday looking for an apartment thatโ€™s not next door to a construction site grinzany_face
tyktjetla thanks so much - possibly a dumb question ๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™€๏ธ but I will ask anyways :rolling_on_the_floor_laughing:

Where are you finding all this local information ?

I havenโ€™t been To Barcelona in 16 years since I lived here and Iโ€™m amazed how itโ€™s changed so much got a little lost even on my walks yesterday ๐Ÿคฃ
In reddit r/Barcelona is a good source of information, lot of junk threads but at least for covid restrictions there's always a well explained thread
I check news websites too but they are usually about politics (elpais for whole Spain, elperiodico for Spain focusing with news on Barcelona,| for Catalonia but that's in Catalan)
For short news pieces there's Catalan news which is an English speaking website
For events there's timeout Bcn, Barcelona secreta although they don't always have a lot of info
Iโ€™m here until Sat
Hey everyone! great to join this channel :fire:

Espai Born
I'm staying at El Tarter, wanna meetup?

I'll have a car
Do you or anyone you know have experience with the visa process for citizens of Vietnam? I'm asking on behalf of a friend in Spain who knows a Vietnamese family living in Latvia. They have residence visas there, so I imagine it'll be easier to move to Spain than coming in from Vietnam
Yeah that's far.
What app is that?
