We have lived in Abu Dhabi for over four years and it is an amazing city! It is completely safe (for couples, solo women, etc.) and there is so much to do. The nightlife is plentiful and alcohol is easily available in licensed places (nearly all hotel bars and restaurants). The locals are friendly, and everyone speaks English. We absolutely love this city.

I liked Dubai. Rents can be decent and offer a lot more compared to Western Countries, spend $1,600 on a Studio for 3 weeks, much better than many developed Western Countries. WiFI speeds are consistent and reliable. Nightlife is amazing but easily the biggest money pit as many places even a bottle of beer goes up to 20 USD. Not a bad place to use as a staging ground to explore the region or take advantage of the well connected airport. Very multi cultural place as well. Just wish the food offer

I'm staying in BGC as I write this, and so far PH most aggressively mediocre place I've travelled to in Asia. Spent the month of September here and it was nice for the first 2 weeks. There are a lot of young people due to the multiple universities and you smell weed everywhere!!! Overall, highly recommnded for the fall/spring. Great weather, food, wines and hikes. There are really nice coffeshops (currently writing from one, "The coffee place"). Very luxurious yet has some parts of the city that are charming and have gothic architecture. A lot of tourists and people from Balkans who work in region. Pretty expensive. If you are not very rich just visit it and choose to stay in some other, more modest german city. In my opinion Frankfurt is city nr 3 in Germany after Berlin and Munich and I have travelled through much of Germany. Hamburg and Cologne are somewhere with the Frankfurt, but Frankfurt is more luxurious.

I absolutely love Istanbul! My biggest recommendation would be to stay in Cihangir or Nişantaşı and avoid the main centre. Cihangir has so many beautiful cafes to work from and there are a lot of people working remotely so it's a really nice vibe. I agree with the comments about taxis, we just caught ubers but mostly walked everywhere which I would recommend. If you stay in Cihangir you can easily walk to Taxim square and through Galata. The food scene here is great once you know where to go

Athens is a fantastic city. Locals are friendly and food is fantastic. There isn't a huge amount to do, but for a short stay it's definitely worth the visit.

Lived in Prague for 8 years. It's a beautiful international European city. Never learned Czech, but was fine. Almost all cafes and restaurants have English menus. Very nice city, but as everyone says, a bit boring after awhile. It's comfortable and feels like the suburbs, with conveniences that you don't always find in SE Asian countries. So… amazing food. Great public transportation. Very clean. But very conformist. Self expression limited. The irony of seeing an exhibit on graffiti, yet no actual graffiti in the streets. And the causal racism especially if you’re brown. You could be British born but still expect to be sat far away from everyone else at cocktail bars, experience comments and have weird assumptions made.
