Kaduna is an amazing city. Typical northern Nigerian laisser faire scene, good food, very drivable, low traffic and pretty much safe. In the major city centres, the city is very safe and very walkable. You will hear a lot of news about dangerous events happening at the fringes of the state but then, that is like judging a city like new york-based on the crime stats alone and not the actual experience. Colab is the main co-working space here in Barnawa, Kaduna south. Its cheap to rent out a place

For internet, don't bother with landline. Just pay for the biggest 4G plan you can get and tether constantly, save yourself the headache. Kukun is the nicest coworking spot, but very expensive, even by international standards ($90usd/week).

I'm currently in Marrakesh and been here for a month. I would definitely recommend visiting but not during summer as it can get really hot. My first day here it was 42 degrees and really dry. It has gotten better so I would say visit around August or later. Marrakesh is lovely but very touristy and I can only imagine how things were pre-pandemic. Since it is very touristy, locals are more lenient when it comes to what you choose to wear which helps a lot when it's really hot. Obviously, you stil

Pros: very safe, pretty affordable, very pretty, hospitable people, great coffee. Cons: a bit dull, culture is very insular (respectful but quite conservative), food is bad, police state vibes are kind of weird. A certain kind of person who doesn't care about nightlife at all, is open to experiencing a foreign culture that's more inward-oriented, and wants to live a really chill lifestyle in a green, pleasant city would really like it. Day to day things are filled with an absurd amount of inefficiencies that I often wonder how things get done at all. - The pedestrian infrastructure is completely lacking with uneven sidewalks & lack

I think it's an excellent place to live. Weather is phenomenal, between 20-27C most of the time. People are super friendly and it's very cosmopolitan (attracts people from all over Kenya, Africa and the world). For Africa it's relatively progressive and I'm not sure why it gets a "not safe for women" (IME it's not perfect but no worse than many other countries around the world and much less regressive than Middle East, South Asia, etc.) It's an excellent j

I really wanted to enjoy it, but unfortunately it turned out to be one of my least favourite cities. Perhaps it was just me, but there was an overwhelming sense of distrust and dislike towards foreigners, you have to try pretty hard to blend in if you want to experience the life of a local & avoid the tourism. I met some wonderful people and and there’s some cool communities to be part of, but another extended stay

Seattle is a great city, especially if you like nature, there are plenty of outdoor activities to do all year round. People are generally open-minded and friendly. The cost of living is high but it allows you to be able to afford other places on earth easily if you can find a job here. You can also find plenty of good restaurants and arts around in the city. I recommend to stay at least 3-6 months to get the feel of living a PNW life.
