I lived in Cairo for one month. The city has some problems with the traffic and poverty. But, the people, are the best that I ever meet (not the sellers). The food is amazing, everything is cheap. the uber is almost for free. The internet have some problems, but it'll depend of the area that you'll live. a lot of people speak English, even the apps have the option to read in English. The city is very safe, even for womans at 2AM on the street. Never, never, and never believe in any seller or an

Very convenient, dirty, good weather and affordable. Overall it's a harsh city environment, which paradoxically typically shapes friendly people. I saw only a handful of westerners / tourists in my month (June) in Alexandria. You order everything. Food ie meals, groceries, clothes everything seems available 24 hours. People are nice. It's unique and different world. I thought it would be similar to Turkey. It's very different to any place I have been to. Note I would choose Alexandria over Cair

It's one of the best cities for me personally to live in (decided to move here full-time). If you still want to live in a city with it's amenities, but want to have the ability to run to nature within 10-20 minutes, this might be it for you. Yes, it's not cheap, and I would put Limassol into the exact cost of living brackets as Lisbon or Berlin. For long-term living, the costs are much

My biggest recommendation would be to stay in Cihangir or Nişantaşı and avoid the main centre. Cihangir has so many beautiful cafes to work from and there are a lot of people working remotely so it's a really nice vibe. I agree with the comments about taxis, we just caught ubers but mostly walked everywhere which I would recommend. If you stay in Cihangir you can easily walk to Taxim square and through Galata. You can rent a room as cheap as 200€ (erasmus rooms), 1beer costs usually under 2€ and has a free 'Tapa' - normally when I go out, with 5€ I've eaten and drank enough. Coworkings cost somewhere from 70-120€ depending if part time or full time. Then you can go almost anywhere around walking, and by bus to the mountains. Compared to Berlin, the Internet is much faster and cheaper. Simyo has 20€ prepaid cards that give you 60GB data x month.

I spent 4 months working here during summertime. It's one of the best summers I have ever had in my life. The city is just amazing and offers dozens of outdoor activities. There are so many different places such as parks, lakes, hills, mountains, beaches, etc. Also, you can feel the Californication vibe on every step. I lived in Hollywood and I would avoid this place at any cost. It's just too overrated and won't meet your expectations. Hollywood (esp. West Hollywood) is a big pile of dirtiness
