I have lived in Madison for many years and have mixed feelings about it. It is a very clean and green city, and hospitable to bicyclists. There are many parks and nature centers and an abundance of restaurants serving all varieties of cuisine. There is quite a bit to do here, and Madison is also close enough to Milwaukee for day trips to explore. I love the farmers markets and feel very spoiled to have access to so many locales from which to buy organic food (and vegan, paleo, etc.). What I

I love the character of the different neighborhoods, the variety of architectural styles, and as others have said, the food scene is incredible. It's easy to make friends in the suburbs, perhaps not so much in the city itself. I have never witnessed racial tension here, and have been pleasantly surprised by the interracial friendliness I have observed. There are a wonderful selection of forests and parks just about everywhere, and the museu

You can nomad in Memphis without needing to pay for a coworking space, which they don't have much of anyway, probably for this reason in part.

Quite spread out, not a very dense population, besides downtown. Lots of military presence. Tons of great places to eat/drink/get coffee, and countless amazing small businesses. Lots to do outdoors, not as much nightlife. Residents are generally very hardworking and friendly. It's a great place to visit, especially if you have time for some of the more "hidden" attractions. The tourist traps are great too, but there's much more to the city if you know where to lo

I have zero regrets and it was a lot of fun for a few years, but ultimately needed to leave. Pros: -Good variety of nightlife and activities. From clubs to cool bars to strip clubs, you can find it in Montreal. Drinking here is quite cheap. -Population feels very young in the city center due to multiple large universities. Other areas around are also full of young professionals. Lots of cool trendy areas. -Work to live not live to work attitudes. People in Montrea

Something about New Orleans always brings me back. Such a unique and one-of-a-kind place that while has gotten more expensive over the years, still is far more affordable than many places in the US. A lot of cheap good fun to have here and some amazing food. I will admit your safety factor will depend heavily on the area you're staying at.

It is easily overwhelming. Whereas I usually take my first week to explore a place Tokyo’s sights just kept on going. I remember ending up in a hidden cocktail bar, a mexican rooftop party with 1 meter margaritas, spending a whole day going only to French places(?), visiting a store that only imported 2nd hand hiphop apparel, and throughout it all the best michelin star ramen.
