Based on La Plata's cost of living, here's selected remote jobs that would cover your costs:
Pros - extremely cheap (excl. housing), great transportation system (both subway and busses), great pastry shops Cons - expensive airbnbs, rude people who can be fairly racist towards blacks (worldcup was a tough time given how openly people were cursing about black people in bars and home get togethers I went to) and other south americans (weird superiority complex), a tad depressing given the current economic crises (almost everyone is going through a rough time so it is difficult to enjoy yo

Of course you can spend it if you want, but actually we're a family of four and our monthly balance is about 3000$. we don't own a car, we don't go out every evening, we don't live in punta carretas. of course, if you want to live in the most expensive neighborhood and wan

Porto Alegre (POA) is a city brimming with beautiful Nature. Trees and birds galore. Unfortunately, there is much wasted potential where historical architecture and intelligent zoning are concerned. I've traveled throughout Brazil and lived in Sao Paulo, and I can attest that POA has the best food hands down. Customer service is top notch, and the shopping is good. Love the vintage stores and antique shops too. Sunsets on the lake are a treasure. Gauchos are the most "talkative" people I've ev

Unfortunately this was supposed to be the best economy in LATAM but what I found instead was a very over priced for what you get experience. People are rude in general, until you get to meet them personally, and the country is way behind in infrastructure, innovation and culture that most countries around it. Not worth your time and money at all.

Amazing beaches and hiking. The seafood here is incredible. YOU NEED A CAR HERE. This place is hard to navigate without a vehicle. Public transportation and uber aren't great. I think this is an amazing place to go with someone else. I wouldn’t recommend it for a long term solo traveler. The reason for that is I found the people to be a bit cold. I approached a lot of people and the interactions always felt so strange. IMO not a great place to mingle w

If you have money, stay in Lomas. That's it. The other areas of the city which every Samantha, Bryan, and pink-haired person named Leaf have mentioned are all worth visiting and enjoying, but just stay in Lomas. Quiet, less population, no dust, and most importantly, you can avoid the broke Americans from Bushwick or WeHo who eat at Orinoco every night to save money.

Everything works, beautiful greenery (hehe), cycling everywhere, happy people, great nightlife... Lots to love about. For nomads? Not a chance. Price of housing is outrageous, and the city is expensive af. They charge you 4.5-5 eur for a capuccino, completely shameless. An hour of public transport is 3 euros. I could go on and on. I'd love to live there, but it's not worth it.

For visiting tourists, the best neighborhood to stay in is NOT Bushwick. Park Slope, Prospect Heights, Ft. Green or Brooklyn Heights is preferable. Plenty of good transportation in those areas - subway, buses or Uber. Easy access to beaches in Long Island and New Jersey. There's plenty to do in NYC. Great restaurants, Broadway plays (!), and in the summer you frequently can catch a free concert.

I concur with the most recent review before mine. This city is great for foodies, the Internet + cellular is great, cafe pasado in Tambo+ convenience stores is dope. Do try all the S/ 12 lunchtime menu del dia all over the city! Calle Chinchon at San Isidro has a lot of the good ones. Nightlife: As an Asian man I found myself better accepted by Peruvian girls than in Colombia. Downside: Public transport is nearly non-existant compared to CDMX and Medellin. But Indrive and Uber are cheap enough.

Very bad place to visit right now. The country is in a time of political and civil unrest, with mass protests closing down airports, train stations, and roads since early December 2022 (it is now mid January 2023). Tourists have had to be evacuated. The train to Machu Picchu is indefinitely closed until further notice. 48 people have died in the conflicts so far. Peru, and Cusco in particular, is a beautiful place with amazing things to see - but right now is not the time to visit.
