The architecture is great and there's a lot of history for those interested in exploring it. The city can be crowded with tourists though (I was there in July.) It's a great place for walking around in and doing a punting tour to learn about the colleges. Commerce tends to close very early, as well as the bars and clubs. I was not a big fan of the food and every place seemed overpriced.

I've been to Bangkok for almost two weeks now and I can't understand comments about the lack of soul or everything being on sale. Sure, there are some sketchy parts like massage parlour touts and an occasional ladyboy here and there, but overall my impression is that it's just a regular big city with some clear advantages. Coming from Central Europe, I find everybody to be very calm and polite. Some may argue it's just a facade and fair enough, but I prefer a calm and kind facade over cold and i

It is unarguably very different than rest of India, much more cleaner and with friendlier people. Beaches aren`t nice for bathing but are a great choice to catch sunsets everyday. Cost of living is dirty cheap and public transport is good. They even have a subway crossing the city with reminds me the BTS in Bangkok. Actually, Kochi to me is like a small and boring version of Bangkok, which is good if you need

A top city. Everything works, beautiful greenery (hehe), cycling everywhere, happy people, great nightlife... Lots to love about. For nomads? Not a chance. Price of housing is outrageous, and the city is expensive af. They charge you 4.5-5 eur for a capuccino, completely shameless. An hour of public transport is 3 euros. I could go on and on. I'd love to live there, but it's not worth it.

Was in Split for September and early october. I went to spend time bouldering over the sea, swimming and having pleasant walks around Marjan Park, which i did. For that it was perfect. The city is also a great place for a nice date and to meet a handful of other nomads. End of summer i feel is probably the best time unless you really want the tourists and the busy nights

Be ready to spend more than 30 euros per person per meal to eat anything remotely decent - The locals will try to scam you any time they can - The night life is very poor, I am not sure why the score is so high - Traveling here with gf/spouse: Egypt is not the most welcoming place for western women I would say it is good for stays of less than 1 month, but after 1 month y

Weather is great even in December and the clubbing scene is fun. There's lots to do and it's a beautiful city overall. You have to watch out for pickpockets but as long as you aren't leaving things unattended or obviously in your pockets you'll be fine. Stayed for 2 weeks after almost a year n a half in LatAm. Beautiful city; great food options- especially for Asian food lovers. Plenty of authentic Thai, Vietnamese and Chinese options for about 50% of what you would pay in a Western city. Decent hostels will cost $11-$15 weekdays and between $18-$30 on weekends.... I have heard of "nomads" coming here for a month and dropping 2k on a T1, while at most it shouldn't exceed 800 euros in the centre of Lisbon, which even like others have noted is an insane amount for locals. Also, the government should really start constructing social housing and do something about subletting/vacation rentals.

It was never with malicious intent though (no one forced themselves on me or even tried to mug me), the culture is just very different than western culture.
