I really like Budva. It has paradisiac beaches, with extremely clear waters and very affordable prices for almost everything (Coming from Central Europe/Germany). Internet costs here 15€ for 500GB (no joke) and you can set up your life quite easily here. The gym costs around 40€ a month without a contract and the usual Taxi ride doesnt exceed 5€. You have very nice beaches everywhere and the boat ride is not so expensive. Specially after September on prices get really cheap for renting.

I don't know where the bad (mad?) walkability score comes from but you'll walk through the historical centre in 10 minutes and everything is nearby. You'd be mad not to hire rental car as Montenegro is just plain gorgeous (especially this part) and you want to be able to drive around at your own leisure. Depending on your fondness for getting trampled by (cruise-ship) crowds, I strongly advise to go during

Visited in February of 2019, the week before Carnival. Great time to visit as there were hardly any tourists and only a few other travelers. Downside is a lot of the restaurants aren't open and some tours are shut down. Upside is you get to live like a local in a insanely touristy town 10 months of the year. We were able to grab a very nice 1 bedroom apartment in the old town center with a kitchen for 150 euros for 5 nights (30 euros/n). Probably 10-15 restaurants were open in the old town, incl

Thessaloniki is a city spread over the hills by the side of the Aegean. A cultural crossroads since Byzantine times, it has amazing cuisine and is full of reasonably priced tavernas and restaurants. Full of neo-classical buildings, there are lots of great living options available close to the city center and beyond. The pace of life is stately or as locals call it "hallarah" and most are not in a rush. There is a nice film festival in the Fall and many other public celebrations.

Generally favorable on Antalya, but not perfect. The weather was excellent (~26 C almost every day) and the nature of the city is absolutely stunning. The mountains on the west side of the city seem to just explode out of the ocean and it's special to see. That said, the built environment is pretty uninspiring. The center of the city is full of interesting restaurants and shops, but outside of the old town it's not very exciting to look at. My primary complaint, however, is on public transit. It

I have heard of "nomads" coming here for a month and dropping 2k on a T1, while at most it shouldn't exceed 800 euros in the centre of Lisbon, which even like others have noted is an insane amount for locals. Also, the government should really start constructing social housing and do something about subletting/vacation rentals.
