It's like Denver, but with less hippies, style and outdoorsy people. Most of the city is suburban, and most of the people are basic. Culture and art, while improving, are still undeveloped. As a city, Charlotte seems like a pre-teen still coming-of-age. Not yet cool, but it has potential to get there eventually.

All in, Austin is a good city. We live in Hill Country now so we're a bit removed. But it's beautiful area once you get away from the highways. A good tech scene. Not too expensive (~$2100 for a nice 2 bedroom apt) for the U.S. Has wineries and breweries galore. Not a great place if you are a recovering alcoholic (!). Cons: extremely hot in the summer; reaches 110 F (43.3 C) in summer afternoons from June - September. Not very diverse. Highways are loud and obnoxious.

Prices are sometimes even higher than in the US. Beach is beautiful, there's nothing to do downtown. Cenotes, archaeological zone are cool, worth a visit. Covid is like it doesn't exist. Internet was cool in Selina. Cool to stay for a couple of nights of chilling, but not for living.

Almost everyone I met has horror stories about being robbed at gunpoint, robbed by the police, and in one case even drugged and robbed by a taxi driver. It's not even safe to walk a short distance at night (locals told me to just take Uber). Beyond the security issues, scams also abound, and the covid policy is wacky, with hand sanitizer being forced on you ev

I found a place with satellite wifi, and while it went down sometimes, I just switched to hotspot off my telcel, or went to a cafe with fiber optic. So, if you work online, and don't need perfect Internet all the time, don't worry about it. I was here three months, was totally able to work online, do zoom calls, etc. I made it work. On that note, I love it here. Beautiful beaches, great food, lots of nightlife, local vibes if you get out of La Punta. It's expensive to stay in La

I've been living in SF since 2014 and I have to say Cost of Living is misrepresented. It's a lot more expensive now (2020) than posted. 1-bdr in center is $3,500-$4,000 + $200-$300 for parking + $100-$200 for utilities. Almost impossible to find month-to-month rent, so this is for 1-year lease. Coffee for two + a pastry is easily $20. Dinner for two never less than $50, unless it's fast food (+20% tips are expected) and if you want actually something good it's at least $100 for two. Airbnb is $1

Famous city, the historical capital and crown jewel of Peru. While the food does not compare to what is available in Lima, man the hiking opportunities are above and beyond. The boleto touristica is fantastic, for around $50 USD you get access to 11 archeological sites (all worth it), a cultural show (worth it), and 4 museums (I did not go). You have the option of hiring a tour guide, who will arrange transport and lunch for around 15-50 USD depending who you go with, but I decided to go it alon

I'm currently in Marrakesh and been here for a month. I would definitely recommend visiting but not during summer as it can get really hot. My first day here it was 42 degrees and really dry. It has gotten better so I would say visit around August or later. Marrakesh is lovely but very touristy and I can only imagine how things were pre-pandemic. Since it is very touristy, locals are more lenient when it comes to what you choose to wear which helps a lot when it's really hot. Obviously, you stil

Yes, it' possible. Visit Café Clock, on rue Talaa Kebira (actually its located on a small street perpendicular to Talaa Kebira, simply look for the sign) We've been on the hunt to find high speed internet in Fes and the only place we've find is this great restaurant/cafe. Internet speed was between 40mbs and 101mbs. A few electric plugs and a very nice menu (finally a place serving other things than tagine or couscous) Delicious vegan options, fresh juices
