A top city. Everything works, beautiful greenery (hehe), cycling everywhere, happy people, great nightlife... Lots to love about. For nomads? Not a chance. Price of housing is outrageous, and the city is expensive af. They charge you 4.5-5 eur for a capuccino, completely shameless. An hour of public transport is 3 euros. I could go on and on. I'd love to live there, but it's not worth it.

I study in Leiden, and I love it here! The city is beautiful, and quaint enough that you can bike from end to end in 10-15 minutes. Because it's a student town there's also a lot to do here, even for non-students. By West-European standards the prices are reasonable. Pretty much everyone speaks English fairly well, and Dutch is not too hard to pick up on. The location of Leiden in the Netherlands is also neat: 10 min by train to The Hague, 20-ish to Schiphol Airport, 30 min to Rotterdam, 40-ish

I stayed in Rotterdam for about a week in early 2022. It's an interesting city, but not very large. A local could show you the best parts in a day or two. I found it to be somewhat expensive. I think it's more geared toward business, so unless you have something specific to take care of, there's no reason to go back.

Bad walkability? Oslo is known for its great walkability and accessibility to nature. The public transport system is also great, and the city is safe. However, the downside is that it is a very expensive city. Basic items like fruits, vegetables, meat and even beer can be costly. Additionally, the import system in Norway is very protective, which means that grocery stores often only carry products that are made in Norway.

I've been hanging out in Berlin on and off for 30 years. It is very safe for women. It is much friendlier than it used to be. There are loads of vegan restaurants now. The nightlife and specially jazz clubs are amazing! I have an excellent apartment to rent out in Wedding - which used to have a boring reputation but now is very cool.

Love Edinburgh. A very historic place that's just generally lovely to enjoy! It's actually not as Scottish as Glasgow. There is a huge English population, as well as many other cultures. A lovely city to spends hours walking around.

For a European capital, there's not much to do. It's extremely overpriced for what it offers. Did not find the locals nearly as friendly as sources say. Food is very meh. Grocery stores are disorganized and everything close to expiry. You will have to beg and compete to find a dump of an apartment for under $2,000 euro/month. Just visited Vienna for the second time and I figured that it would be worth writing a review about. Things I liked: - The architecture, as others have mentioned, is really beautiful - Food/cafes are also really good. I recommend trying options in Leopoldstadt, where the choices were better (IMO) than the city center. I absolutely love living in this city. It's very clean, safe and things generally always work! This is something I miss when I travel to other cities in Europe and rest of the world. Also co-working spaces are growing tons. Though night life might be pretty "boring", it truly is what you make it. If you're physically active, CM is paradise 9 months out the year. Like many, I live here, but fly to Phuket from Mid Feb to Mid May to escape the burning season. Been coming to Koh Tao for years, it's an under-rated island IMO. Its small size makes it a great place to stay and remote work from. Lots of great beaches, walking trails, climbing and of course scuba and snorkeling. An amazing selection of restaurants, great coworks and cafes to work from.
