I am not sure where some of these “stats” came from but Liberia is an English speaking country though many people speak a form of West Indian slang. It is not a good habit to go into a country for a short time, associate w/a small group who don’t represent the majority and write slanted comments from your limited perspective.

Pros: - I loved the inejra - Weather was nice - The home country for my parents, so it felt nice being able to just blend in, compared to living in western countries. - The USD goes a long way Cons: Coming from a western perspective, life in here in Addis Ababa is just unnecessarily difficult. Day to day things are filled with an absurd amount of inefficiencies that I often wonder how things get done at all. - The pedestrian infrastructure is completely lacking with uneven sidewalks & lack

Sure, there are some sketchy parts like massage parlour touts and an occasional ladyboy here and there, but overall my impression is that it's just a regular big city with some clear advantages. Coming from Central Europe, I find everybody to be very calm and polite. Some may argue it's just a facade and fair enough, but I prefer a calm and kind facade over cold and i

People are super friendly and it's very cosmopolitan (attracts people from all over Kenya, Africa and the world). For Africa it's relatively progressive and I'm not sure why it gets a "not safe for women" (IME it's not perfect but no worse than many other countries around the world and much less regressive than Middle East, South Asia, etc.) It's an excellent j

Montego Bay is a nice friendly place to stay if your a tourist. I like going to the market for fresh vegetables and fruit. There’s a lot of taxis and transportation for cheap If you know where your going and how to count jamaican money. Doctors Cave beach is popular and other community beaches in Montego Bay. There’s a lot of activities to do.

Weather is great even in December and the clubbing scene is fun. There's lots to do and it's a beautiful city overall. You have to watch out for pickpockets but as long as you aren't leaving things unattended or obviously in your pockets you'll be fine.
