I haven't been to Suva in years but when I was there I cried when I had to return to the US. The people were friendly and humble. I was invited to weddings and villages by taxi drivers and the people working at the hotel before the week was up. I felt incredibly safe. The natural beauty was outstanding. There was a plethora of things to do, the hiking, the incredibly friendly villagers , the snorkeling and the Indian food. I do not know if things have changed for the worst since that time but I

My partner and I lived in Gold Coast for 6 months during the coronavirus pandemic. Its a very expensive place to live and its hard to find optimal housing. There are many Austrialians looking to live here so its has a growing housing market, we experienced a rental rate increase during our stay. This seems to be a lively city with many visitors and fun amusement parks, clubs, and nice shopping centers. But for us the main value was its proximity to a world class beach. This is THE nicest city

Much more livable that I expected. Downtown is a bit dusty and unclean, but suburbs are great, with lots of restaurants and malls. Furthermore Jordan is smaller than it seems, there is basically one road crossing the country from North to South and you can always visit Petra or the beaches of Aqaba in a daytrip. Just avoid Ramadan as it can be very annoying for foreigners with all the restrictions.

Going to Gringo Tuesdays is a very touristy thing, I only ever went once everyone is 25 and trying to get laid basically, and its P$11,000 a beer, my local pub sells beer for $P2,000 by comparison. It's one of the best summers I have ever had in my life. The city is just amazing and offers dozens of outdoor activities. There are so many different places such as parks, lakes, hills, mountains, beaches, etc. Also, you can feel the Californication vibe on every step. I really enjoyed my first week here, but as I got to know more locals and heard their stories, I was disturbed at the security situation. Almost everyone I met has horror stories about being robbed at gunpoint, robbed by the police, and in one case even drugged and robbed by a taxi driver. It's not even safe to walk a short distance at night (locals told me to just take Uber). Beyond the security issues, scams also abound, and the covid policy is wacky, with hand sanitizer being forced on you ev

If you're not shopping, eating at a restaurant, bar hopping, or going to a reggaeton club until 3am, there's not a whole lot else to do. The weather is remarkably consistent: everyday it will be 85F, it will be cloudy for a few hours including a 15-30 minute shower, and then it will be mostly sunny for

For visiting tourists, the best neighborhood to stay in is NOT Bushwick. Park Slope, Prospect Heights, Ft. Green or Brooklyn Heights is preferable. Plenty of good transportation in those areas - subway, buses or Uber. Easy access to beaches in Long Island and New Jersey. There's plenty to do in NYC. Locals can vary in friendliness quite a bit -- although being brusque with someone from the US mainland is entirely understandable. Uber works perfectly well.
