Its a very expensive place to live and its hard to find optimal housing. There are many Austrialians looking to live here so its has a growing housing market, we experienced a rental rate increase during our stay. This seems to be a lively city with many visitors and fun amusement parks, clubs, and nice shopping centers. But for us the main value was its proximity to a world class beach. This is THE nicest city

Honestly, this is an awesome place to be if you're actually trying to get work done. It's a bit of an older vibe than Canggu, and there's certainly a big chunk of yogi's kicking around — but I liked it much better than Canggu and found it less pretentious. Plus, you can drive down there in 45mins whenever you want some beach or party vibes. As others mentioned, there's some great coworking spaces, cheap warungs, some really nice spots to stay cheaply if you go just outside of the mad tourist

I was reading previous reviews and there are digital nomads here calling locals idiots, i dont even know if i wanna be classified as a digital nomad because of these arrogant and privileged expats. better go back to your first world country and not travel. anyway, Cebu is a good jump off point for other islands but good internet is not easy to find unless you just stay at the center.

It is still great and you can find really cheap apartments (300-400$) and restaurants (2-3$ for a main). Wouldn't recommend staying there during the burning season. The best area is Nimman, but it's also the most expensive. You can stay in the old city that's very nice but that gets noisy during the weekend for the night markets. I have heard of "nomads" coming here for a month and dropping 2k on a T1, while at most it shouldn't exceed 800 euros in the centre of Lisbon, which even like others have noted is an insane amount for locals. Also, the government should really start constructing social housing and do something about subletting/vacation rentals.
