Roatan is a beautiful island and has become a worthwhile spot for digital nomads. I've been impressed with the high band internet speeds and over all reliability of all services! If you want to scuba dive, this is one of the best places on the planet to do that as well

Safe unless you insist going around with valuables and healthy unless you Purposely look for something else. You can have a great experience if you try to talk to locals and understand local habits. I had a very nice familiar and human experience with some locals who rent a container house in Cocles, in the middle of the jungle, unique experience El Nido del Buho.

There seems to be a tacit rent floor that means you won't find a good deal on housing. Panama City very interesting and slept on. Probably the most developed major city in Latin America with the strongest technology infrastructure which makes it very appealing for digital nomads. Also a lot of international business coming through here so there can definitely be good networking opportunities. People are generally open-minded and friendly. The cost of living is high but it allows you to be able to afford other places on earth easily if you can find a job here. It may be cheap but if you want to live in a good location with swimming pool, go to nice rooftops and restaurants, use taxis then it is similar cost to western countries. In many areas there are no sidewalks, big and dangerous traffic all the time, pollution, taxis do not want to go with meter, it can get really hot. Definitely try to live by the metro. Many foreigners, mostly friendly people, cheap
