One of the top 5 capital for industries and commerce, som of the most important companies have a sede in this city. Super easy to fly around the world. Wonderful places to visit for families or alome. Friendly people and it is the capitol of the comedy in Mexico.

Overall, I spent around a month in Guanajuato state in 2020. In that time I spent most of my time in El Tigre, Xoconostle, and Yuriria. We really fell in love with Cuidad de Guanajuato. Having a major university in the city really changes the atmosphere and makes communicating a lot easier than in the rural areas like El Tigre. I was able to get by on my “two year old

I think enough to do entertainment wise. Just expensive due the mass amounts of CA residents/expats/business owners, wifi is also weak unless you are at a top place like Sayulita Hotel. Surf break is essentially one peak and crowded, the locals don't really share it. One week tops here.

I have done about 2.5 months total in PV (two separate trips). Airbnbs are plentiful near the centro and december 5, more expensive in the romantic zone and even more expensive in Sayulita. But central PV is pretty cheap, even inland from Hotel Zone is nice and cheap. Roads and walkways are narrow and horrible. Internet is OK. If you stay in PV central, the beach isn't so great for s

We live in Hill Country now so we're a bit removed. But it's beautiful area once you get away from the highways. A good tech scene. Not too expensive (~$2100 for a nice 2 bedroom apt) for the U.S. Has wineries and breweries galore. Not a great place if you are a recovering alcoholic (!). Cons: extremely hot in the summer; reaches 110 F (43.3 C) in summer afternoons from June - September. Not very diverse. Highways are loud and obnoxious.

Something about New Orleans always brings me back. Such a unique and one-of-a-kind place that while has gotten more expensive over the years, still is far more affordable than many places in the US. A lot of cheap good fun to have here and some amazing food. I will admit your safety factor will depend heavily on the area you're staying at.

I love the character of the different neighborhoods, the variety of architectural styles, and as others have said, the food scene is incredible. It's easy to make friends in the suburbs, perhaps not so much in the city itself. I have never witnessed racial tension here, and have been pleasantly surprised by the interracial friendliness I have observed. If you want to buckle down and get some work done, it's a great place to be.
