In fact biggest gem these days is Podgórze neighbourhood, for lots of locals and expats this is trending area now. It's probably the most dangerous city to live in Madrid and one of the most dangerous in europe, with constant pick-pocketing and even violent crimes to get your wallet and phone in certain areas.
