I lived in Bowling Green for many years and found the people to be very friendly. There is quite a variety of restaurants and some bars have live music. The university offers many cultural activities, and Bowling Green's proximity to Nashville is good for the nightlife scene. I found it very easy to make friends here. On the downside, it gets extremely humid in summers and cool breezes are hard to come by. Bowling Green has become very popular, so traffic has worsened over the past several

It's like Denver, but with less hippies, style and outdoorsy people. Most of the city is suburban, and most of the people are basic. Culture and art, while improving, are still undeveloped. As a city, Charlotte seems like a pre-teen still coming-of-age. Not yet cool, but it has potential to get there eventually.

I really enjoyed my first week here, but as I got to know more locals and heard their stories, I was disturbed at the security situation. Almost everyone I met has horror stories about being robbed at gunpoint, robbed by the police, and in one case even drugged and robbed by a taxi driver. It's not even safe to walk a short distance at night (locals told me to just take Uber). Beyond the security issues, scams also abound, and the covid policy is wacky, with hand sanitizer being forced on you ev

It's extremely overpriced for what it offers. Did not find the locals nearly as friendly as sources say. Food is very meh. Grocery stores are disorganized and everything close to expiry. You will have to beg and compete to find a dump of an apartment for under $2,000 euro/month. Maybe quality of life is better in the suburbs, but the city centre and surrounding area is not an attractive place to live. Overall, just avoid. For a similar price, you

I don’t recommend living here full time. The summers are unbearably hot and humid and you have to drive 1+ hours to the closest beach. Actually, you have to drive everywhere because everything is a 20+ min drive. Traffic is terrible and everything is under construction. There are lots of bugs, mosquitos, gators, roaches, etc… You can be here for months and not do all the different entertainment, restaurants, experiences the Orlando area has to offer. For visiting tourists, the best neighborhood to stay in is NOT Bushwick. Park Slope, Prospect Heights, Ft. Green or Brooklyn Heights is preferable. Plenty of good transportation in those areas - subway, buses or Uber. Easy access to beaches in Long Island and New Jersey. There's plenty to do in NYC. Great restaurants, Broadway plays (!), and in the summer you frequently can catch a free concert.

It has paradisiac beaches, with extremely clear waters and very affordable prices for almost everything (Coming from Central Europe/Germany). Internet costs here 15€ for 500GB (no joke) and you can set up your life quite easily here. The gym costs around 40€ a month without a contract and the usual Taxi ride doesnt exceed 5€. But aside of that it's a wonderful city, with lot of things to do, lot's of places to go and very affordable prices. Plus, you can drive down there in 45mins whenever you want some beach or party vibes.
