Where should we live in Colombia for six months?

I've heard travel to CO from USA is blocked until September. Any news on this and may this change anytime soon?

What is the best solution with the Visa?
I thought to have a Visa for tourists for 3 months and renewal the visa for 6 months. Is that hard to renewal a tourist Visa in Colombia?

So… a few months ago when I was in Asia, for some reason I decided that it was gonna be too hot over the summer months and I wanted to mix it up with a few months touring Europe. So I had the idea to buy and RV and drive round for a few months.

It’s taken a few months going through the process of getting my license to drive the RV, because it’s so large it wasn’t covered on my standard driving license. Add to that, I had some solar panels fitted for unlimited power, and a massive satellite dish for internet wherever I go.

I’ve now got my ferry booked out of the UK for September 11th and at the moment have no plans past the first few weeks.

Has anyone on here done anything similar before? Any places recommended, or anyone around Europe over the next few months?

I’m doing about 3 months worth before heading to Vegas for NYE and around the states for a few months after that before back to Asia for a bit.

I just arrived to Medellin and did not anticipate that no one would speak any english at all. (I’m used to Asia where everyone knows the basics)

I need a SIM card, I found a place at the mall where they sell them, but it’s not a simple transaction and I don’t speak Spanish.

Any thoughts appreciated.

I’m looking at El Pabelado, but on Airbnb it’s all like $1500, when I know the real rent price there for a 1br should be $600.

I work as remote freelance developer (might become permanent) for US companies and I want to go back to Colombia. I already used my tourist visa. I have seen that it’s possible to get a TP7 for independent work but I don’t understand two points :

1. Authorization or registration of the foreigner’s activity, issued by the respective regulatory entity when appropriate. (What is the regulatory entity here?)
2. Document certifying the address of the place where the activity or work is to be carried out, such as an authentic copy of the RUT or certification of existence and legal representation, issued by the respective Chamber of Commerce.
   At the moment I’m in Arequipa, Peru. Do I have to remotely create a company in Colombia? Do I need a contract as Independent with a Colombian company?
   I got a UK LTD too if that can help.
   PS: If you know some great intermediary companies that can handle all this against fees.

We are currently planing to go to Malaysia for three months, but are unsure whether Penang or KL is the best fit for us.

Generally, we don’t like big cities (e.g. Bangkok) too much, but we need to get some work done and need good wifi and a place that is easy to settle into. A modern, comfortable and private apartment for less than ±2.500 MR is a requirement. Easy access to nature and good food (vegetarian) is more important than shopping or an active nightlife.

This is quite a specific question but can be generic in term of method.
I need to get some time out of Bogota so I can come on the remaining days of my touristic visa in order to enrol in a cheapest university to study Spanish.
So basically going out for 2 weeks, come back, do the papers during the 3 remaining weeks.
I’m trying to find the cheapest flight + hotel combination for this period of time using Nomadlist.
Anybody has a better method/experience?

I’m an aspiring DN and my best chances for getting a job are to continue developing my Front-End skills until I can get a steady stream of income. I’ve never been hired for this kind of work. Before it was just a hobby but now I’m quite serious…any suggestions to go from 0 to employed in 6 months? Also I live in China.

In Colombia, I have heard people telling me that once you have a work visa you can enter and not care about what happen if you get fired.
Unlike the USA where if you lose your job, you are *****ed.
Is it a possibility to get a job, get in, open a bank account(not sure if that’s a good idea since it’s not going to receive a consistent flow of cash from a Colombian company), then quit and work as a freelance remote.

If you were thinking in terms of broad nomad-friendly regions (South East Asia, Eastern Europe, Balkans, South America, Middle East, India, …), considering the high-seasons, monsoons, weather, etc. which regions do you recommend to be in which time of the year?

Just phoned my current business bank in the UK(cashplus), they told me that I need to be in the UK to keep using their account.
Can I open a new bank account in Colombia and use it to trade for my UK LLC?
I have seen this : Non UK resident banks
But many requirements to open those bank accounts (having a UK resident shareholder, coming back to the UK, making a deposit of 20K).

I am considering to spend sometime in Cluj from around August. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to find an affordable room? Or maybe even have a spare room? It should be as cheap as possible, but I also don’t need much. A bed and wifi are almost enoug. toilet and small kitchen would also be nice. Shared flat would also be fine.

From what I’ve researched I can get a Visa on arrival and then extend that by another 60 days. (Is it around $60-70 for the original plus extension?)

But what about if I would like to plan for staying longer - should I get the 60 day visa that I can extend for 120 days?

Also, what is the process for extending the Visa? Do I need to leave the country to do so? In the first scenario, with the 30 day VOA and add’l 30 day extension, is it possible to stay longer by leaving and then coming back? Is there a limit for how many days one needs to leave the country and how many times this process can be repeated in any given time period (i.e. a year)?

Which Indonesian visa is the most hassle-free for staying there for 6-12 months? By hassle free I mean reasonably easy to obtain, not too expensive, and ideally without frequent renewals. I will arrive in Bali in April 2015.

The visas that come to mind are:

• 1 year business visa (but the first stay can only be 60 days, any following stay as long as I want?)

• Half-year sosial visa (but I have to renew monthly and cannot leave for a few days without an exit/re-entry permit?)

• Tourist visa which I convert into a sosial visa (probably it’s cheaper and more hassle-free to do the sosial right away before arrival?)

Which did you try, and which were easiest? Do I need a local invitation, and what is the easiest way to get one without getting into obligations?

Would anyone be so nice and invite me for a business visa? If yes please PM me, we can talk of course before you agree to help me out on this one.

What I want to do in Indonesia (starting in Bali) is surfing, looking into starting an online business, or ‘looking into investment opportunities’ (if arriving on a business visa).

By the way, I have an EU passport.
