This city is not for everyone, if you like shopping malls and big crowded cities it is for you. It may be cheap but if you want to live in a good location with swimming pool, go to nice rooftops and restaurants, use taxis then it is similar cost to western countries. In many areas there are no sidewalks, big and dangerous traffic all the time, pollution, taxis do not want to go with meter, it can get really hot. Definitely try to live by the metro. Decent city, mainly because the people are so kind. But, it is a pain to get cash (spent a few hours every couple weeks trying Western Union after WU and never finding one with enough cash), and a lot of places don't take cards/the current exchange rate is a ripoff. However, BRING REPELLENT. The place is littered with mosquitos, and my partner and I both contracted dengue. He ended up in the hospital, and it was not a blast. Athens is a fantastic city. Locals are friendly and food is fantastic. There isn't a huge amount to do, but for a short stay it's definitely worth the visit.

I don't know exactly how Barcelona is still considered safe but it's far from it. It's probably the most dangerous city to live in Madrid and one of the most dangerous in europe, with constant pick-pocketing and even violent crimes to get your wallet and phone in certain areas. If you like a peaceful life, Barcelona is not the place anymore!!

The island is beautiful. Many tourists, especially for overrated Full Moon Party that elevates prices a lot. Roads are in good condition, you would need a scooter to get around, tourists drive very bad and irresponsibly. Wear a helmet! It is not a computer game, do not let the paradise island delude you, there are many accidents. A few places to work from. To get here you need to fly to Samui or Surat Thani and then take a ferry. Valencia is just a paradise on earth, and you realise it when you feel so blessed just walking around in this vibrant yet calm, small yet big city. The parks, the activities, the beaches everything is accessible and affordable. Life is simple here and you do not need much to have a nice life, we all do the same things. This is a gem in Europe and we are blessed to have found it.

Canggu has changed quite a lot. Inmigration treats tourist like shit. Congestion and traffic is a nightmare. Horrible Pollution. Been living here 2 years and I am def closing this chapter. I am a high net worth individual and I will go with my money somewhere else where they respect me and the place has a good energy.

It used to be a nice city for nomads, but its out-priced now and don't recommend it. I am a single female- remote worker from USA with residence permit of 2 years and have to say its not what it used to be. Stormy tropical weather as we speak so unpredictable these days. I am reporting from Istanbul. The prices shown here are much lower than the current prices in Istanbul. (Prices are constantly increasing due to high inflation) For example, 1 beer costs $2 in markets, not in cafes! In cafes it is 4$ - also dinner is said to be 4$, but you can only eat a toasted bread for this money. To get an idea, a main course and a drink is at least $10.

I spent a month in Caparica and I really loved my time there. The vibe is amazing, the community was growing by that time and it was already very good and welcoming, I felt welcomed and part of something :) Dr. Bernard was one of my favorite spots and their surf classes were suuuuuper great, amazing surf teachers with a really nice vibe. Can’t recommend Ubud. It’s just the same overdeveloped and overpriced mentally isolated tourist trap that is Canggu, just a bit worse. If you have never been anywhere else, it might be okay for 2 weeks, but to any seasoned traveller it’s a the type of place you dread.

Cool little town to live in and work from, I was there for 3 weeks in low season. Lots of great restaurants, cafes etc. Nice easy access to the beach, riverside and countryside. Nightlife is quieter, but if you don't care about that, it's great. The Hub coworking there is run by some super friendly people and the new location they are building looks like it should be fantastic..

Lombok definitely has the most amazing virgin beaches , waterfall, and marine life! Senggigi is just one of its many long white sand beaches and a lot of them are still waiting to be discovered. Not much of a party going on here, but if you are itching for one, just hope to a speed boat for 15 minutes and you will arrive in the wild gili trawangan. I was only staying for 4 days, then I fell in love . Been here for 6 months and counting.

Lived in Phuket for a year now. Amazing place, especially the Bang Tao area. The further you go up north, the more beautiful it gets. Amazing beaches, beach clubs, restaurants and people. Patong is nice for a few days, but if you're not into partying just stay away. A lot of police check on the roads around Patong (and accidents), so always bring your international license. You can make it as expensive (or cheap) as you want, if you eat local like I do a meal is around 60 - 120 baht. Stay away

I was in the South in Adeje where I found an amazing coliving place (check google: Ojala Casa Tenerife). It's by far the best place to be in Europe.

Galle is a cute, small, Portuguese and Dutch colonial-style town with great food options - better than Colombo. Some coffee shops won't let you work, but great beaches are just a few minutes' drive away.
