To those of you that aren't technical, what do you do to earn money?

by @theblakemoore |  | 27 comments

Hey guys!

I’m new around here and thought I’d ask a question I’ve been wondering for a while now. I’m set to sample the nomadic lifestyle soon and I’m currently trying to define what my skillset is, and what I’m going to do long term.

I’m sure many of you have been through this, but it’s difficult knowing what you’re good at! I’m not a developer and I know there must be so many of you that aren’t working in technical roles. So I was just curious, for those of you that aren’t developers (or even those of you that are with an additional side-hussle) what do you do to earn money on the road?

Any digital nomads w/ over $10k/m revenue?

by @homakov |  | 79 comments

Are there guys here with income over $10k month living more luxury-like lifestyle? I struggle to find friends with similar lifestyle who can travel anywhere and not care about the money, who can go to a nice restaurant or bar and not look at the prices.

I am not a douche bag (mostly) who only cares about the money, but the majority of people I met are trying to spend less and it kills so many opportunities to have fun… I am not rich at all, but I hate “backpacker” lifestyle and call myself a “flashpacker”.

I used to live in Bangkok and I visit this city frequently. Now I’m in Saigon and going to Taipei in the end of Nov. Anyone wants to connect?

Where are the best digital nomad locations for hippies?

by @conni |  | 23 comments

I am a Yogi, living a spiritual, healthy, vegan lifestyle. I have been a digital nomad for several years and am now more and more looking for places that satisfy all my interests and needs that meet my healthy yogi lifestyle.

Right now I am in in Bali, which is perfect for me:

  • lots of yoga
  • many high-quality, healthy, vegan/veggie restaurants
  • loads of like-minded people
  • i can live my inner hippie while hustling away for my business
  • online entrepreneur community

What other places can you recommend that also match the requirements of a digital nomad lifestyle (good Internet etc)?

How to get into the zone without caffeine?

by @panoramica |  | 17 comments

I’m recovering from a stomach bug so caffeine and sugar, the two staples of late night development, are off the menu. As a result I’m finding it quite hard to get motivated!

Does anyone have some alternative techniques to wake my brain up and plug me in?

Currently I’m indulging in music but it’s not having quite the same effect as the killer combo of coffee/music/chocolate

Can becoming a digital nomad help fight your anxiety and depression?

by @noam_lightstone |  | 13 comments

Hey guys, I officially became a nomad in February, moving to HCMC in Vietnam. Now I’m living in Chiang Mai.

I used to suffer from really bad anxiety and depression, and have a blog that helps people who deal with them.

I wondered: could becoming a digital nomad help with these mental issues?

For the pro-side, you get to travel, meet so many people, see more things than many could hope to see in their entire life…

On the against-side, you have stress of sometimes not having money if you’re just starting out, loneliness/isolation, problem with integrating into a new culture, etc.

Wanted to get you guys’ opinions and thoughts. Do you think this lifestyle can help or hurt? Why or why not?
