A great place to work, live and enjoy the island lifestyle. I've been unfortunate with the weather as it is the coldest winter since 1972.
✨ Recommended destinations
This is an algorithmic recommendation based on @eike's trips history to find places they haven't been to yet that other people with similar travels as them also went and liked.
Just to let folks know that the Digital Nomad Guide states that the island's pop is 380,000 people. But that is just the pop of the capital (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria). Las Palmas metro area is home to over 650,000 and the whole island has some 850,000.⭐️ All 💵 Cost 📡 😀 Fun 👮 Safety 0 35 Mbps ×
Stayed for 2 weeks after almost a year n a half in LatAm. Beautiful city; great food options- especially for Asian food lovers. Plenty of authentic Thai, Vietnamese and Chinese options for about 50% of what you would pay in a Western city. Decent hostels will cost $11-$15 weekdays and between $18-$30 on weekends.... Good internet; beautiful architecture and people but it is true Hungarians can be very cold at times. Overall a good stay with many destinations just a quick and cheap flight/tr⭐️ All 💵 Cost 📡 😀 Fun 👮 Safety 0 32 Mbps ×
Good: - Great local food - Portuguese people are amazingly friendly - Vibrant DN community. It's like the city has been overtaken by remote workers. You will see everyone working on their laptop everywhere you go. - Amazing views whenever you want; you can just get a beer and climb to one of the viewpoints to see the sunset. Easy and magical. - Super cheap Ubers, easy subway Bad: - Housing prices. I'm not kidding, it's the worst I've ever seen. Ultra overpriced. I guess that's the problem when⭐️ All 💵 Cost 📡 😀 Fun 👮 Safety 0 35 Mbps ×
I've been to ~70 countries. Porto is my favorite city in the world. The people, the people, the people! It's the perfect size, well connected airport, vibrant and happening, amazing blend of locals and expats, and much cheaper than Lisbon. Looking to call this place home.⭐️ All 💵 Cost 📡 😀 Fun 👮 Safety 0 39 Mbps ×
I cannot help but agree with the review from the person before me. I'm finishing my 3 weeks trip here, and something feels off. Like that person put it rightly, everything is for sale, and nothing has value. There is no soul to this city and its people, locals or otherwise. Something is wrong here.⭐️ All 💵 Cost 📡 😀 Fun 👮 Safety 0 28 Mbps ×
Chiang Mai used to be N.1 for the digital nomad life. It is still great and you can find really cheap apartments (300-400$) and restaurants (2-3$ for a main). Wouldn't recommend staying there during the burning season. The best area is Nimman, but it's also the most expensive. You can stay in the old city that's very nice but that gets noisy during the weekend for the night markets. Last but not least, very safe city. All in all would go back in a heartbeat.⭐️ All 💵 Cost 📡 😀 Fun 👮 Safety 0 25 Mbps ×
Like everywhere, Singapore has pros and cons. // Pros: // Everything works very well, it's clean, you can use the trains and transport system with a bank card, Grab taxis are efficient and safe, the airport is amazing // Everyone speaks English // Population seems well educated and cosmopolitan // There are lots of parks and green spaces. // Cons: // It's very expensive. For what you get it feels overpriced compared to most Western countries for example. // It's hot and very, very humid. Unti⭐️ All 💵 Cost 📡 😀 Fun 👮 Safety 0 60 Mbps ×
I lived in Puerto De La Cruz between October and December. Pros; - Quiet, safe neighbourhood - Well stocked supermarkets - High speed broadband in my Airbnb - Very hot and sunny days in October / November - Cheap Taxis - Lots of hikes - Legal, cheap cannabis - Access to southern Tenerife for partying Cons; - English is not that great, but can get by. - High humidity and rainfall - Not great social scene - A lot of sub-par restaurants (I recommend 'Vulk' and anything south american) - Boring n⭐️ All 💵 Cost 📡 😀 Fun 👮 Safety 0 36 Mbps ×
A pleasant touristy island which is great for hiking and just traveling around on a car. Funchal isn't a modern city but it's walkable and liveable: there are coworking spaces, decent internet and occasionally you can even find filter coffee.⭐️ All 💵 Cost 📡 😀 Fun 👮 Safety 0 40 Mbps ×
