I'm flying thru Singapore and changing airlines there for the first time. I land at terminal 4 and leave in terminal 1. My departing flight is a low-cost carrier and it looks like I will have to exit the transit/arrivals area to go to the second airline counter and check in again. I have 4 hours between flights and only carry-on luggage. My passport is from a country listed as not needing a visa in Singapore, and I have a ton of vacinations. Does it sound like I am all set, or am I missing something? Thank you all in advance.
dashbell 2mo
Sounds fine, here are the accepted vaccine proofs for SG www.ica.gov.sg/enter-transit-depart/entering-singapore|https://www.ica.gov.sg/enter-transit-depart/entering-singaporebr /> Also make sure your to check if the destination country after Singapore has any specific entry requirements.
Got it! Thank you!
Do people rent scooters in Singapore? If yes, where can I find one?
Havenโ€™t really heard anyone doing this. Public transport is insanely good and interconnectivity with buses/ MRT should get you 99% places.
Grab or gojek (car / no bikes here) for last mile if you need to
Bus / MRT routes on Gmaps are pretty accurate too. You also get real time info for when the next bus arrives
yeri 2mo
there's no real rental options (there are some options but that's for people whose main vehicle is under maintenance for example). Also pretty sure you need a local driving license to be able to drive it (ie need to convert)

youโ€™ll need to make a SG arrival card, easier with that app

Hey guys, weird question. I will fly to Singapore, after my Bali visa expires, for a short stay before going back to Bali. Is there any particular requirement to come to Singapore? Can I get a visa directly in the airport when I land there? Thank you very much!
mrrayes 2mo
The best thing with Singapore is there is no disgusting scooters polluting the air! Scooters and cars should be banned in the cities. Make cars too expensive to own or only sell electricsโ€ฆ Singapore already achieved this โค๏ธ
yeri 2mo
depends on your passport/nationality
Got it thanks ๐Ÿ˜‰
Hey everyone! I will be visiting Singapore for a week starting on Monday (Oct 10th). Would love to say hello to anybody else who is also in town!
Good plan. There could be several Singapore stops in my future. Thanks for the tip!

Hi guys! Did you know if there is problem to do a stop in the Singapore airport in the path to Da Nang?
ishminder 2mo
Anyone in involved in defi in & is in Singapore? What are you working on?
Depends on your passport, what airline you're flying in and out on, and if you have checked luggage. You'll probably have to do the Singapore health app in advance of your arrival.

Whatโ€™s your top 5 things to do in Singapore? Iโ€™ve looked it up, but wondering what people here liked the most ๐Ÿ™‚
Hey txnsnczkl ! Iโ€™ve only been here in Singapore for maybe 48 hours, but here are some things Iโ€™ve enjoyed so far!

white_check_mark Saw the Jewel at the Airport
white_check_mark Dinner at Newton Food Center
white_check_mark Dinner at a different more โ€œlocalโ€ hawker center
white_check_mark Walked around in Chinatown during the day
white_check_mark Walked around by the Marina
white_check_mark Walked a really long way last night and got a little lost in some residential area

And here are some things I still want to do before I leave in a week or soโ€ฆ

black_square_button Go to Gardens by the Bay (thereโ€™s some free screening of a new Planet Earth movie there on Saturday evening, might be fun)

black_square_button See the Botanical Gardens

black_square_button Go to the ArtScience Museum

black_square_button Check out Sentosa Island / go to the beach / ride the cable car

black_square_button Try to meet more Locals & Eat plenty more food!

If youโ€™re looking for someone to explore around with, let me know!

bcgzncypuhpzwoqz thank you! This is very helpful :). I hope you getting lost last night was adrenaline-rushing moment haha. We wonโ€™t be there until 1 month from now otherwise weโ€™d def take you up on the offer! If you end up on some cool local food joint let me know :)
Nice! Not so much adrenaline, but I did find some good late-night ice cream!

One thing Iโ€™ve noticed though โ€” at least during the week โ€” the city as a whole pretty much dies after 10pm! ๐Ÿ’ค
dalilac 2mo
Oh thatโ€™s interesting :face_with_raised_eyebrow:. Good to knowโ€”thx!
Thanks!

Hello, #singapore I just arrived few days ago. I want to try the Metro Rail (MRT) in singapore. Where do we get the passes, and also any good app to find MRT tracks?
At the station itself. You can use google maps to navigate
onurozer 2mo
You can use contactless debit/credit cards or even Apple/Google Pay in the MRT. Just tap in and out and the fee will be charged to your card.
You can even pick up an โ€œEZ-linkโ€ card at pretty much any 7-11 and keep loading it up as needed!

For routes, Google maps works very well! The MRT is very efficient, organized and simple โ€” one of the better metro rail systems on earth!
alihannah 2mo
I've been using Citymapper for MRT routes and walking. It tells you the best entrance and exit to the metro, best train car to ride in, and has more features than Google Maps. I'm a die hard Google Maps fan & local guide but I'm super impressed with Citymapper!
any good place with reasonable cost to stay in Singapore? most of the time I found ibis still the best value
you can use credit card to tap, just download simplyGo app and add your card into the system, then use that card to tap. EZ link would cost $5 to purchase then you top up
Hello everyone! I will traveling to Singapore in two weeks and want to check if the are requesting yellow fever vaccination card!
๐Ÿ›ฌ yuxwgugwowxpp just arrived in ๐Ÿฆ Singapore, #singapore
Normally Singapore would require vaccination proof, and it can be digital
njsubedi 1mo
They didn't ask for vaccination card. We had PCR test 24 hours ago, maybe that's why. Instead, fill the Singapore Arrival Form before traveling so the arrival is a bit quicker.
They require it only if you have been to certain areas, where yellow fever is an issue. Fill out the arrival card and you will see (they ask if you have been to these countries recently). I was asked zero questions after filling out the form a couple of days ago (no yellow fever vaccination, no covid test).

Planning to go to Singapore in December and trying to find legit agency to apply for a visitor visa (I have Russian passport), any recommendations on that? Already googled couple agencies and they were scam ๐Ÿ˜ข

Unfortunately you can't apply as an individual (looks like they suspended this type of service), you can only apply using local person from Singapore or using authorized agency, so currently looking for 2 option :)

Here is the quote:

Your visa application can be submitted online using the e-Service through a strategic partner or a local contact in Singapore.
This might seem a bit odd, but hear me out. Bali Visas in Indonesia has an international department that deals with visas across the whole world. They're not a scam operation, they have been in business for like 20 years and probably do tens of thousands of visas every year. You can contact them via their website. Good luck. www.balivisas.com/

You need both a negative test and travel insurance. The airlines check these documents during check-in. Official info here under 1b) www.ica.gov.sg/enter-transit-depart/entering-singapore

antigen test works as well, way cheaper

Any way to legitimately do remote working for one year in Singapore? what are visa options?
Nope, not without a visa, and they don't do remote work visas, so you'd have to find a job, or setup a local company.

Any recommendations for 1-3 month accommodations in Singapore? Everywhere seems to be already booked, super expensive or both.
Depending on budget, from lowest to highest Iโ€™d say ST Singature -> Capri by Fraser China Square-> Fraser Residence Orchard
Those were the best ones I found in their budget categories. St signature is basically a room and shared bathroom. Sound proofing is non existent but otherwise itโ€™s fine. Capri is a clean no thrills hotel. And Fraser residence is services apartments, found it very comfortable. But yeah they all get quite busy. Singapore seems to have gotten really busy recently

Bit of a weird question maybe -- but are there any events or groups based in Singapore that you think are really worth it to network/build connections/expand your business? Talking about chamber of commerces for example from other countries (I'm part of BLCC - nice community and all, but not sure if it's bringing that much value as a Belgian; but there's plenty of other chambers out there that may be interesting)
Maybe SGTech but during Covid itโ€™s been pretty quiet of course. They arrange a lot of talks, trips, etc. but itโ€™s more aimed at SG based companies looking to expand abroad

Any coffee shop recommendations around Chinatown? Or somewhere to sit 2-3h and get some work done. I'll be in SG in January for a conference for a week, so looking for places to check on my off-hours :D

Visiting SG for 10~14 days. What would be the best eSim option?
Not sure about eSims but both Singtel and Starhub have affortable tourist sim cards with very generous data plans with around 2 weeks validity.

Great!! I will check them out.
I used Nomad when I was in singapore, I believe it was 5gb for $15. And yes it has an app so setting up the esim is really simple
