  • Marrakesh

Marrakesh has been one of my favorite places to visit. I spent 1 week there in October (2022). The temperature was cool and I could wear shorts or jeans throughout the day/night. We experienced 1 day of rain, but other than this time, it was pleasantly dry. The town has many tourists, I met with many European visitors and some Americans. The locals are friendly and not pushy. The streets are quite clean and are maintained daily from what I see. I did not feel unsafe even as I walked alone at 11

I visited Prague on more than one occasion and tried something new each time. I really wanted to enjoy it, but unfortunately it turned out to be one of my least favourite cities. Perhaps it was just me, but there was an overwhelming sense of distrust and dislike towards foreigners, you have to try pretty hard to blend in if you want to experience the life of a local & avoid the tourism. I met some wonderful people and and thereโ€™s some cool communities to be part of, but another extended stay

Lived in Nairobi off and on since 2019. I think it's an excellent place to live. Weather is phenomenal, between 20-27C most of the time. People are super friendly and it's very cosmopolitan (attracts people from all over Kenya, Africa and the world). For Africa it's relatively progressive and I'm not sure why it gets a "not safe for women" (IME it's not perfect but no worse than many other countries around the world and much less regressive than Middle East, South Asia, etc.) It's an excellent j

I've spent a total of ~2 months in Kigali. Pros: very safe, pretty affordable, very pretty, hospitable people, great coffee. Cons: a bit dull, culture is very insular (respectful but quite conservative), food is bad, police state vibes are kind of weird. A certain kind of person who doesn't care about nightlife at all, is open to experiencing a foreign culture that's more inward-oriented, and wants to live a really chill lifestyle in a green, pleasant city would really like it. Pros: - I loved the inejra - Weather was nice - The home country for my parents, so it felt nice being able to just blend in, compared to living in western countries. - The USD goes a long way Cons: Coming from a western perspective, life in here in Addis Ababa is just unnecessarily difficult. Day to day things are filled with an absurd amount of inefficiencies that I often wonder how things get done at all. - The pedestrian infrastructure is completely lacking with uneven sidewalks & lack

Seattle is a great city, especially if you like nature, there are plenty of outdoor activities to do all year round. People are generally open-minded and friendly. The cost of living is high but it allows you to be able to afford other places on earth easily if you can find a job here. You can also find plenty of good restaurants and arts around in the city. I recommend to stay at least 3-6 months to get the feel of living a PNW life.
