Pros: Weather is great and apartments are excellent. Cons: City is dirty including the beaches. Locals are extremely hostile, unfriendly and confrontational. There isn't a huge amount of good things to do in the city - most things are mediocre. People constantly bash into you in the street. Food and coffee is very average. Crime is awful - my apartment was broken into and my suitcase got stolen from the baggage belt at the airport. Air quality is terrible.

Stayed for 2 weeks after almost a year n a half in LatAm. Beautiful city; great food options- especially for Asian food lovers. Plenty of authentic Thai, Vietnamese and Chinese options for about 50% of what you would pay in a Western city. Decent hostels will cost $11-$15 weekdays and between $18-$30 on weekends.... Tokyo has so much to offer and so much to do. It is easily overwhelming. Whereas I usually take my first week to explore a place Tokyo’s sights just kept on going.
