Brasilia is a hidden gem in the middle of Brazil. Very safe city, with good restaurants, super safe traffic, very green, perfect for biking, and with a high level of education. Shaped like an airplane, it is the most famous planned town in the world, by legendary architect Oscar Niemayer. Internet is good, you can rent a cheap Airbnb, most of them with a green view, There are more than 800 waterfalls close by (check Chapada dos Veadeiros) and hiking spots. The climate very pleasant as long as

Lived here three years. On the plus side the people are friendly and the women are beautiful. The urban area is huge but all the action takes place in a fairly small central area. On the minus side, there are very few parks or green spaces. There aren't many attractions or cool things to do in the city. People's leisure time is mostly spent drinking in roadside bars.

If you live near the bus terminal, you can get a bus every 30 min to são paulo. It has some good coworking space if needed. Not as much to do as são paulo, but has some good food places, supermarkets, one good mall. If you live near the main avenue (nove de julho) and close to Jundiaí Shopping / bus terminal, it has some good apartaments to rent, close enough to a good supermarket, the mall, restaurants, public transporta

And I found it hard to be very productive as there was always cool things going on everywhere. Safety is a concern. For longer stays I think Barra de tijuca is good, but for a month or shorter it's best to stay in copacabana, ipanema and leblon. My favorite place would be in the middle of copacabana and ipanema. But please learn how to be safe in the city, ask local people or fellow travellers. I will defintly come

Very nice and underrated city. Many parks, and things to do. The best neighborhoods are Centro (near Shopping Estacao) and Batel (near Praca Japao). You can do everything on foot. Everything is cheap by European standards. The nightlife is very good, Latin America standard. Women are beautiful. Security is okay in these neighborhoods, but be aware. English speaking is only possible with young people or some adults. The weather is good and comfortable in the fall. One of my favorite cities in Bra

Amazing beaches and hiking. The seafood here is incredible. YOU NEED A CAR HERE. This place is hard to navigate without a vehicle. Public transportation and uber aren't great. I think this is an amazing place to go with someone else. I wouldn’t recommend it for a long term solo traveler. The reason for that is I found the people to be a bit cold. I approached a lot of people and the interactions always felt so strange. IMO not a great place to mingle w

This city is incredible. Now I understand why Parisians look down on other cities. It is endless. Museums, history, cool bars, incredible food, diversity, beautiful people nicely dressed... It helps a lot to speak French. It's expensive. I'd love to nomad here for a month or two. I really liked Marais as an area.

Most of that time I've spent in Ka Ron and Kata beach area, but also have been to Chalong, Pa Tong, Rawai, and Kathu. Karon and Kata beaches are my favorite. Beaches are beautiful, especially Karon. Overall most everything is reasonably priced, but not the bargain I was told it is. I eventually found a hotel I like, where I pay 12-13 euro per night (below 500 baht atm) and that is by far the lowest I found for the quality I expect. Considering the loc
