  • Sรฃo Paulo

Sao Paulo is a place of high contrasts. Massive buildings, roads, and road rage co-exist with peaceful parks, fantastic skies, and very kind locals. Before you go, make sure you have the right expectations because this place is the South American equivalent of LA or NYC. It is absurdly different from Rio as far as the activities and landscape. Some of my favorite things are the 20,000+ restaurants and bars, people watching (more contrast), free art museums and attractions, and the fantastic co-w

  • Porto Alegre

Porto Alegre (POA) is a city brimming with beautiful Nature. Trees and birds galore. Unfortunately, there is much wasted potential where historical architecture and intelligent zoning are concerned. I've traveled throughout Brazil and lived in Sao Paulo, and I can attest that POA has the best food hands down. Customer service is top notch, and the shopping is good. Love the vintage stores and antique shops too. Sunsets on the lake are a treasure. Gauchos are the most "talkative" people I've ev

  • Brasilia

Great restaurants. Very organized city, unique architecture, traffic is usually good and drivers respect pedestrians. Very dry weather between may and september, great for outdoor activities in parks and at the Paranoa Lake. You can meet people from all over the country, since they usually leave their home state to work in public agencies in Brasilia. Public transportation isn't great, but taxis and uber work very well. Brasilia itself is a safe place, the surroundings not much. Cost of living i
