BKK is amazing but if you want enjoy it, you will need at least 100k Baht per month. If you don’t have it, better choose another city.

One of the best cities in Europe. Though location makes a big difference in Istanbul. Besikatas, Nişantaşı, and Karakoy are parts that I enjoyed. They are safe and have nice vibe and energy. Big city, but not too hectic. I've met a lot of friendly Turkish people there and had good conversations. The food is good and relatively cheap. Outside of the good areas you will find lots of scams, people will try you everyday. Though its not violent, you can always just walk away.

It is a very woke town, also, loads of yogis whit spiritual businesses that wants to sell you some magic "technique" to improve your life, again if you are not a woke person, this place is not for you. Don't think is a tropical place because it is not, it is often windy and winter is wet and cold. Also, it is not a beginner surf place, they're a much better places to learn the sport in Portugal

I've lived here for a year as a solo female expat over 50 (from the US) and I love it more and more every day. There are always events and things to do. I've been hanging out in Berlin on and off for 30 years. It is very safe for women. It is much friendlier than it used to be. There are loads of vegan restaurants now. The nightlife and specially jazz clubs are amazing! I have an excellent apartment to rent out in Wedding - which used to have a boring reputation but now is very cool.

Lived in Prague for 8 years. It's a beautiful international European city. Never learned Czech, but was fine. Almost all cafes and restaurants have English menus. Helsinki, FInland, for one week in late July 2023. Short story: I would go there again in a heartbeat. Its safe, fun, trendy. It has great public transit in the core and to the airport, and is REALLY pedestrian friendly. English is readily spoken in the downtown core. Food from local and worldwide tastes is available and I did not have a single bad meal there. We stayed in Tampere for a month this summer and it was wonderful. My husband's father and family live in the area, so we've visited multiple times but this was the first time we went on an extended trip and worked remotely. Choose a place to stay where you're in walking distance of a public swimming beach so you can take a dip in the evening sunlight.

Bikes being stolen all the time, even during day time while you are at work! More and more young people who have problems with drugs and are taking part in the criminal world. If you don't like to drink, there's nothing to do. Horrible and depressing - the only thing is that it's pretty safe, depending on which part of the city you live in.

Cool city if you want to practice surfing and eat some basque food. The weather is cool (maybe a little rainy), warm and not too hot. The only downside is the housing price :/
