I grew up in Chicago and still return fairly often. I love the character of the different neighborhoods, the variety of architectural styles, and as others have said, the food scene is incredible. It's easy to make friends in the suburbs, perhaps not so much in the city itself. I have never witnessed racial tension here, and have been pleasantly surprised by the interracial friendliness I have observed. There are a wonderful selection of forests and parks just about everywhere, and the museu

For a European capital, there's not much to do. It's extremely overpriced for what it offers. Did not find the locals nearly as friendly as sources say. Food is very meh. Grocery stores are disorganized and everything close to expiry. You will have to beg and compete to find a dump of an apartment for under $2,000 euro/month. Maybe quality of life is better in the suburbs, but the city centre and surrounding area is not an attractive place to live. Overall, just avoid. For a similar price, you

I've lived in Munich for six months during my Erasmus internship. It is a great place to live generally, offering high quality of life, and it would hands down be the best city to live in Germany if: -It wasn't expensive af, especially rent prices -It wasn't almost impossible to find a place to rent (like literally the only way to find is through acquaintances) -Bavaria was less bureaucratic and more tech-progressive -It had more... young people; much of the youth there is because of the two of

Lived there last September and October and am coming back later this year. Yes, it is expensive, but after a while I learned about affordable places to eat and realized I could choose neighborhoods farther from city center, and it would still be nice. City feels super safe, even at nigh! Internet is crazy fast (I got 500mb on my airbnb) there are tons to do and see and I did not encounter the super rude Parisians people talk so much about, mostly everyone spoke English and were very polite. I do not like Hanoi. I would not recommend it. I would rather go to Mexico city (cleaner and easier to get around). The driving situation is bizarre and scary. Gab app only works with cash, and honestly, most things only work with cash. The streets are dirty and disorganized. People barely speak English here (I found more english speakers in Da Nang, Vietnam). I tried to stay in Truc Bach and it was so dirty and loud that i left to West lake (which is supposed to be one of the nice area). It is

This city is amazing: beautiful, lively, great food, cheap and great surroundings. Beaches and mountains within 1 hour of your doorstep. The only downside is that the airport has very few flights and itโ€™s not as easy to get here as for other bigger Spanish cities. This should be one of the top ranked cities in Spain imho.

Pros: * Very clean - lots of hand sanitisation places and people wear masks + streets are clean * Great, cheap public transport * Very beautiful city and good parks * Pretty good Italian and asian food Cons: * Coffee shops seem to have mostly gone and been replaced with lots of Starbucks and other chains. * Food / drinks is very expensive in most parts - Local beer is quite cheap though * Barely any night life to speak of - everything closes at 11pm Other Info: COVID restrictions are very stri

Good: - Great local food - Portuguese people are amazingly friendly - Vibrant DN community. It's like the city has been overtaken by remote workers. You will see everyone working on their laptop everywhere you go. - Amazing views whenever you want; you can just get a beer and climb to one of the viewpoints to see the sunset. Easy and magical. - Super cheap Ubers, easy subway Bad: - Housing prices. I'm not kidding, it's the worst I've ever seen. Ultra overpriced. I guess that's the problem when

Florence is one of the most beautiful city in the world! Here you have the opportunity to taste real genuine, fresh and organic food and experience great wines (such a Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino, Nobile di Montepulciano, Bolgheri Sassicaia, Ornellaia and much more) ! Think that Italy is the only country in the world where each region produce a different kind of wine with different kind of local grapes. It is a real bless for palate. Italians are friendly and locals even more. Almost e

  • Granada

This city is amazing: beautiful, lively, great food, cheap and great surroundings. Beaches and mountains within 1 hour of your doorstep. The only downside is that the airport has very few flights and itโ€™s not as easy to get here as for other bigger Spanish cities. This should be one of the top ranked cities in Spain imho.

  • Tokyo

Tokyo has so much to offer and so much to do. It is easily overwhelming. Whereas I usually take my first week to explore a place Tokyoโ€™s sights just kept on going. I remember ending up in a hidden cocktail bar, a mexican rooftop party with 1 meter margaritas, spending a whole day going only to French places(?), visiting a store that only imported 2nd hand hiphop apparel, and throughout it all the best michelin star ramen. It just seemed endless, completely unrelated and incredibly fun. Six wee

It's basically a party island -- getting work done will require discipline. One who can accomplish that will be rewarded with a paradisiac cheerful enviroment where everyone wants to be happy and enjoy life. In long term, be careful with your emotional life, as new flows of people everyday going in and out might unbalance your way to see the world.
