Stayed in for a month and it was enough for me. Pros: -Great weather. -Great Restaurant scene -Amazing areas to walk around and super green for a major city -Lots to do, was never bored here -Good healthcare -Good shopping Cons: -The pollution is quite bad and very noisy - Cost, one of the most expensive places in Latin America, maybe Cancun & Cabo are the only places more expensive -The traffic was probably the worst I have ever witnessed, very chaotic. -Starting to become westernised so a

  • Playa del Carmen

Not my favourite place, but it has some positive qualities. If you want American comforts like Walmart, Costco, Sam's Club and live abroad, this is a good spot. You can also shop from both Amazon US and MX; there are many US/Canadian people here. It's a very comfortable place to be in many ways. For many people, it's a great first digital nomad spot as many things are catered to tourists, making it easier for nomads. There are a lot of great, cheap gyms for every activity you can think of. Seaweed - Summer is seaweed season and it stinks which ruins the awesome beaches. Town center is very hip and trendy now and prices are going up. My tip, winter is best, the weather in summer is scorching. Oh, and find a place with AC, you'll need it

  • Cabo San Lucas

Cabo's super hot in the summer. It's very safe to walk around at night. Most of the tourists seem to be at the all-inclusive hotels by the pools. It's not cheap to live here, even daily groceries are expensive as everything is trucked in from the mainland. Winter weather is perfect though. Not too many co-working spaces as the whole town caters towards cruise ships and wild weekend parties

  • Austin

All in, Austin is a good city. We live in Hill Country now so we're a bit removed. But it's beautiful area once you get away from the highways. A good tech scene. Not too expensive (~$2100 for a nice 2 bedroom apt) for the U.S. Has wineries and breweries galore. Not a great place if you are a recovering alcoholic (!). Cons: extremely hot in the summer; reaches 110 F (43.3 C) in summer afternoons from June - September. Not very diverse. Highways are loud and obnoxious.

  • Galapagos Islands

I live in Ecuador and I have been to the Galapagos a couple of times, but never for work because the internet simply doesn't work. In fact, I have a cousin who lives there and works for the Charles Darwin Station and whenever he visits us in Quito he catches up on social mediaโ€ฆ that's how bad the internet is over there. It's a beautiful destination for fun, but not for remote workers (unless you can work offline while you are there).
