What are the best coworking spaces in London?

in London , United Kingdom by @leonagano 9yr  | 12 comments

Does anybody know great locations (coffeeshops, libraries, parksโ€ฆ) to work in London? I would like to work with other digital nomads too.

Thank you.

After working from some places mentioned here, I decided to start a new instagram account to track where I went to work and had a decent coffee. What you guys think about? Is is a good initiative?

@coffrs

Please, let me know your first impressions. Thanks.

Hatch by Homerton station is really nice too. You can either work in the cafe or pay ยฃ12 for your own desk for the day and then you get 50% off food an drink. You can do a free trial day to start. http://www.hatch-homerton.co.uk/

Last few times I was in London I worked at Timberyard. Plenty of outlets and their tea presentation is top notch! Only problem is you might have to loiter around until a nice window seat opens up.

Leo!

Try Google campus, itโ€™s located in Shoreditch and itโ€™s open between 9:00 and 17:50h. You can register online and work in the Cafe area. It could be great for networking because everybody work in start-ups.

Hi Marta. Thank you. Iโ€™m already registered at Google Campus and had been there twice the last week.

Itโ€™s an absolutely great place to be just because everybody there work for startups. Itโ€™s not a noisy place and always there was chair to seat down and start to work.

I worked at UK Starbucks for 4+ years.

You can even reserve tables for meetings/interviews, just call them up and let them know.

(Obviously, you should buy drinks!)

I know of a fewโ€ฆ Look Mum No Hands, Flat White and Brick Lane Coffee are good spots for solid coffee and WiFi. In Central London near Soho you can always find a quieter Pret or Nero Coffee which despite not being the greatest places to be in, they always have fairly decent WiFi and will never complain about the fact that you simply ordered an espresso and stayed for 4 hours :stuck_out_tongue:

The Timberyard is also a very popular choice, although Iโ€™ve never been there myself. As for libraries, the British Library and the one near Canada Water are good ones to work at.

I had been at The Timberyard yesterday around 3pm. Itโ€™s a good place with plenty of tables to work and outlets through the whole space. Thank you for the other coffees. I will try it.

Itโ€™s tru about Pret, Nero or even Starbucks. The will never complain about it. Once I was in an Starbucks near Clapham Common and there was a 6 place table with a company running there. Itโ€™s funny.

Are co-working spaces a good way to meet people in a new city?

by @donaldbough 3yr 3 years ago  | 1 comment

My fiancรฉe and I are most likely moving to NYC (maybe DC) in August, and as a technical startup co-founder I'd love to meet new people that are also into startups. Would joining a co-working space be worth the money to do this?

I work for a big tech company that has an office in NYC, but it's mainly sales so I wouldn't be able to meet others that are related to any of my 9-5 work or likely into tech.

If co-working spaces, post covid of course, aren't a good way to meet business starting people in a new city, what is?

Video chat coworking solutions?

in Brazil by @essentiallyint 4yr 4 years ago  | 2 comments

I am new to working out of coworking spaces. My business entails a lot of video conferences. I haven't chosen a specific coworking space yet but generally, what are the potential solutions for this? I have a microphone and headphones but still fell like it may be inconsiderate to take the calls anywhere in the coworking space. For a solo person, what are some general solutions? Are there usually options to rent a private room by the hour with just enough room to set up my microphone and laptop? Sidenote: any coworking space recommendations in Florianapolis, Brazil would also be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Do you prefer co-living spaces or hostels or Airbnbs?

by @davda1546 4yr 4 years ago  | 5 comments

We are hoping to become nomads soon and have booked an AirBnB in September in Goa for our first destination. We are considering what would be the best option for accommodation after that. We are trying to decide between co-living spaces, hostels, or Airbnbs.

What are your experiences of accommodation in terms of the following: reliable wifi, social aspect, pricing, cleanliness, cooking facilities?

Has anyone created a list of co-living spaces around the world?

by @keegansard 4yr 4 years ago  | 4 comments

Iโ€™m a big believer in co-living but Iโ€™m finding hard to find all the options available in different cities.

I have found the major players like Roam, The Collective, and WeLive but havenโ€™t found many others.

Has anyone seen a list or should I start making one?

Everything is in the title.

Iโ€™m working on a big project so I will need fast internet (>15 mbps).
If itโ€™s close to the beach, it would be even better.

Thanks !!

Foreigner owned Coworking business in Malaysia

in Malaysia by @newyam 5yr 5 years ago  | 0 comments

Heyo folks! The idea to open up an own coworking space in Malaysia has been on my mind for quite a while and I would like to reach out on foreigners being a business owner/co working space owner in Malaysia, there are a lot of questions that would follow up but most importantly is to reach out to someone with experience.

Ideally would be someone who runs a coworking space in Malaysia, second best would be to just come in touch with a foreign business owner in Malaysia.
Cheers
Yamin

Best coworking space in Medellin?

in Medellรญn , Colombia by @adele 6yr 6 years ago  | 6 comments

Hi there,

Iโ€™m considering a month or two in Medellin and wondered what the co-working space options are like. I want something more than a cafe, so happy to pay the going rate. I spent a couple of months at Hubud in Bali earlier this year and loved it, but realise that Iโ€™ve set the bar pretty high.

Has anyone used Epicenter? I read somewhere it is pretty busy. Any other options?

Suggestions much appreciated.

  • big screen or wall for projector (we will have our projector if needed)

Thanks!

Which coworking spaces are open 24/7?

by @yako 6yr 6 years ago  | 13 comments

Does anyone know of any coworking space open 24hs somewhere around the world? Sometimes because of my line of work I need to be awake when everyone is sleeping on the country I am in (but I know I am not the only one!). It would be amazing to share that time at a coworking space with others who like to work at night or who have to be awake. Does anyone know of any coworking space open 24hs somewhere in the world?

Bring external monitor to SE asia and avoid coworking cost?

by @anderkd 7yr 7 years ago  | 13 comments

Would it be advisable or wacky to lug an external monitor from the US in hopes of avoiding coworking costs by working from Airbnb with decent wifi? Iโ€™m not sold on coworking spaces, and like the solitude of coding away in my own little airbnb space. One screen is limiting to productivity, hence the love of an external monitor. Thoughts?
