For anyone who has traveled a lot Mรกlaga will be underwhelming. The weather is AMAZING but the city itself gets boring after 2 days and apart from the historic center most neighborhoods are not pretty to look at. The beaches are not very beautiful. The museums are not impressive and people are not used to digital nomads so if you're not fluent in Spanish it will be nearly impossible to make friends. Public transportation works quite well but to get to the better hiking spots you will need a ren

A top city. Everything works, beautiful greenery (hehe), cycling everywhere, happy people, great nightlife... Lots to love about. For nomads? Not a chance. Price of housing is outrageous, and the city is expensive af. They charge you 4.5-5 eur for a capuccino, completely shameless. An hour of public transport is 3 euros. I could go on and on. I'd love to live there, but it's not worth it.

I lived here for a summer. This city has beautiful nature with lots of parks, incredibly parties/clubs, few cafes to work from and is extremely bike friendly. It's a city that is very hyped and a lot of Berliners are moving here as they are fed up with Berlin. This place is however nowhere near as packed and eventful as Berlin. It's a very calm city and often not so much going on in the summers as all students are on holiday. Overall you might have a hard time making friends but if you join the

Beautiful island. For me it hits a sweet spot combining some of Canggu and Ubud. There's good stuff like breath work and ecstatic dance close by but you don't have to scooter a whole hour to get there. It's not too hippy and you can easily avoid that vibe if you're not into it. The mountainous landscape makes for some lovely scootering - so nice that I've taken a few rides just for the pleasure of it. The bigger roads are lit at night and pretty good, not much traffic. Putrajaya is the only place I would recommend due to its close proximity to the airport. The Shaftsbury Hotel is modern with two convenience stores, pharmacy, restaurants, dental, and more in the actual building. There is a rain fountain in "mall" of the building that would be Putrajaya's attempt at Singapore's airport one. The location is also literally right across from the bigger mall that has restaurants, international grocery store, movie theater, bowling, electronics, etc. It's a safe a

Honestly, this is an awesome place to be if you're actually trying to get work done. It's a bit of an older vibe than Canggu, and there's certainly a big chunk of yogi's kicking around โ€” but I liked it much better than Canggu and found it less pretentious. Plus, you can drive down there in 45mins whenever you want some beach or party vibes. As others mentioned, there's some great coworking spaces, cheap warungs, some really nice spots to stay cheaply if you go just outside of the mad tourist
