I live here with my girlfriend close to Santa Cruz now for around 1 year. We lived before in Alicante and Gran Canaria. Lots to discover if you like Hiking or Surfing. Nomad scene is here with a couple of Meetups and Activities if you look for it. It's relative cheap compare to West Europe. Food is difficult to find Restaurants what you can eat well. Pros: Weather always perfect even in winter It's an Island, so there are many beaches 2 Airports with many flights all over Europe Fresh Frui

In about ten days it will quit down as people return to work and school. Overall I'm enjoying the vibe and Internet is good. I read they fixed the sewage problem that other reviewers have mentioned. I will post another review after a few weeks. I was speaking to a local and he said rent for a basic apartment is max $300 and you can purchase one for about 25k (60 sq meters two bedroom)

I've been in Essaouira for a week now and it's a welcome break from the chaos that is Marrakech. Much quieter with elements of the old medina but scaled down and arguably prettier. You're not pestered like you might be in Marrakech too. I visited everything there is to visit within a day so it really is a place to relax and mellow out. Prices are a bit more reasonable when it comes to Morocco and the weather is nice (but constantly windy). Wouldn't recommend to anyone wanting an adrenaline rush

The excitement and chaos are novel for a short time, particularly in the old medina. Scams, expensive and tiresome. For sure Marrakech is something to experience, it really is a buzz, especially if you want to shop but within a couple of days I learned to avoid the medina as much as I could and within a week I was ready to leave. Plenty of excursions and day trips including Atlas mountains, Sahara,

Nomading here is tough because there are no reasonable Airbnbs and finding a short-term apt is difficult. You have to ask yourself, is it worth coming to Barcelona? It's probably the dirtiest city in Spain, and a bit sketchy. There's more beautiful and cleaner cities like Seville where you can find a reasonably priced Airbnb.

The people really have this "arrogant, uppity" vibe that makes you want to leave ASAP. Yes, architecture is incredible. It's walkable, transportation works, etc. Incredibly expensive. Perhaps it was just me, but there was an overwhelming sense of distrust and dislike towards foreigners, you have to try pretty hard to blend in if you want to experience the life of a local & avoid the tourism.
