Saigon has some nice areas with good apartments and nature e.g. central park, golden river, empire city. Rest of the city more or less sucks, too much traffic, pollution and noise. Overall pretty meh, no real reason to visit or live there.

Soโ€ฆ amazing food. Great public transportation. Very clean. But very conformist. Self expression limited. The irony of seeing an exhibit on graffiti, yet no actual graffiti in the streets. And the causal racism especially if youโ€™re brown. You could be British born but still expect to be sat far away from everyone else at cocktail bars, experience comments and have weird assumptions made.

  • Cape Town

I've been in Cape Town a month. The good: it's gorgeous, great hiking and scenery, wide variety of restaurants at affordable prices, lots of great cheap wine, walkable neighborhoods. The bones are there to make this an awesome place to live, and Cape Town knows it and has good nomad infrastructure (wi-fi, coworkings, etc.). That said, if you're looking to discover Africa, this ain't it. A lot of Cape Town's issues feel very American: inner-city homelessness, gentrification, yawning racial and so

Bali for grownups. It's perfectly safe. I could walk in 95% areas of Floripa at night with my phone taken out without any feeling of danger. Safer than Rio, for sure. All types of water sport and hikes are available here, so it's a good place for people who are into nature. Place isn't very trendy and service sometimes isn't that good but it's getting there. As anywhere in Brazil, people here don't in general speak English. But they're so friendly that they will always try to help you out and sm

INTERNET----------------------------- Medellin is a larger city, with a solid fiber internet (often 200 mb+) and reliable electricity. Latency is low with fiber. Best internet Ive had so far in Latin/South America. AREAS TO STAY-------------------------- The two main areas, Poblado and Laurales, for expats and tourists make the area for walks and sights considerbly smaller, than you can exect from a 3 million US / EU city. I spent 4 months working here during summertime. It's one of the best summers I have ever had in my life. The city is just amazing and offers dozens of outdoor activities. There are so many different places such as parks, lakes, hills, mountains, beaches, etc. Also, you can feel the Californication vibe on every step. I lived in Hollywood and I would avoid this place at any cost. It's just too overrated and won't meet your expectations. Hollywood (esp. West Hollywood) is a big pile of dirtiness
